Republican Debtlock: How Will More Evictions & Homelessness Make America Greater?

You seem to have made a huge (and illogical) leap from someone not being a ‘homeowner’ to them being “homeless”.

My, you're in a particularly trollish mood this morning.

Nope, the OP premise is that some people deserve public subsidies for personal use things which most are expected to provide for themselves. I have no problem with such programs for the elderly and/or disabled, but the Progressive plan seems to be that low income itself should be treated as a disability. Lack of (endless?) public personal financial support (forced income redistribution?) doesn’t cause “homelessness”.

The goal of enhanced future anti-poverty government social assistance programs I envision should not be to give away things for free to those who refuse to help themselves, but to seek to instill the desire of self help into those who have little by rewarding them for trying, and rewarding them more for trying more.

You know, it's kind of like what capitalism attempts to do; but this would work for those that capitalism does not help.

It takes government programs to really do for everyone what conservatives claim capitalism does.

Only government programs can pick up the pieces that capitalism leaves behind.

Basically, capitalism doesn't care if people succeed or fail. Government does. Government is charged with 'Promoting The General Welfare.'

Capitalism is just like stupidity in Forest Gump's eye. Capitalism is as capitalism does.

Government cares. Government has the responsibility of making America a success. Capitalism only rewards the shrewd investment of capital.

You are simply advocating for (additional federal) public rewards for failure, funded by additional taxation of success. That such programs aren’t being implemented (successfully) where Progressives are in control at the state/local government level is quite telling.

What an absurd and awkwardly inappropriate response.

Person A says: " ... instill the desire of self help into those who have little by rewarding them for trying, and rewarding them more for trying more. "

Person B simply labels what person A says as:
simply advocating for (additional federal) public rewards for failure, funded by additional taxation of success.

And then claims without any basis of support that existing programs which are being successfully implemented where progressives have gotten the chance to do so, have not been.

This, even as the numbers and data tell a different story. Blue states have a higher rate of college degrees held and a lower rate of people imprisoned for crimes than red states. Blue states receive fewer dollars per capita for assistance programs than red states because those programs are working and getting people elevated out of poverty.
