Awhile back here where I live a guy walked onto the tracks and stood there and the engineer couldn't do a thing about it except blow the horn and watch. The engine got a new red paint job.
Thing sometime after that a guy did a literal swan dive off an overpass by a train yard. Not sure if the train hit him,but he hit the rails from about I'm guessing 25 feet. And there have been others here. You are right if someone wants to they will.

I was actually once in a train that had hit a boy on a tractor. This was somewhere in the midwest, the boy had driven a tractor out onto the tracks and sat there in the tractor while the train hit it and totaled the tractor and him along with it. They suspected it was a suicide. I was a passenger in the train.

BTW this was out in the midwest which is very gun friendly and where guns are quite easy to legally get. And this was a suicide that wasn't done with a gun.

I have never heard gunfire in my neighborhood yet all of my neighbors are armed and many like myself carry when we are forced to go into town for one reason or another.

Science does cover the question of whose life is worthy of armed protection and unless you have a "scientific" solution that eliminates 100% of all firearms (civilian, police, military) in the world you are spouting pure nonsense.

Well, some of us would actually like the feds to prosecute 4473 violators, and put actual straw purchasers in prison, and not allow violent criminals to cop pleas to dropped firearms charges. It's those people who are responsible for nearly all of the crime and all of the homicides.

Well if you want to actually do something about the people who commit those crimes...vote republican. Democrats believe in leniency on felons. You would get no second look from me if you gave mandatory death penalties for robberies and such involving a firearm.
