Ok im going to jump on a partisan bandwagon here even though im an equal opportunity basher, because of personal observation lately.
Theres appears to be a whole new crop of Politicians, especially of the far right persuasion a younger crowd that has no military service. like walsh...thats ok..Not everyone has served or can serve. However, for this guy to try and marginalize this lady who gave her legs while hes given NOTHING by lip is unacceptable to me. She should and has every right to run on her service as he has to run as a teaparty privledged non vet.
This new crop of what I call the privledged brats want to put down or play down military veteran opponents...simply because they " got nuttin" I hope the voters see this guy for what he is....
I called it in post #19.
Where did I claim I don't trust the actions of a vet? Stop engaging in emotional reasoning and objectification.
It's laughable that any liberal would claim anyone is insulting veterans after you spat upon vets getting off planes after the Vietnam War....
That myth was debunked decades ago.

John Kerry politicized his military service. John F. Kennedy politicized his military service. John McCain politicized his military service. This is standard operating procedure for politicians.

There is nothing funnier than a Republican complaining about people "politicizing" military service. Anyone remember when Republicans were lockstep in their "with us or against us" mentality? And if you were against Iraq you were against the troops and whatever vague mission they had that week?
Wow, he pointed out that politicians politicize their military service. What's next, will he show us that the sky is blue?
"Now I'm running against a woman who, I mean-- my God-- that's all she talks about," Walsh told an audience in Elk Grove, Ill. "Our true heroes, the men and women who served us, it's the last thing in the world they talk about."
There is only antedotal evidence and for everyone of those there are hundreds that say the opposite. There is no definitive proof or evidence that protestors spitting on vets in airports ever happened. I suspect it was because most were drafted. And too, many vets continued to wear their army issued fatiques for street wear when they got back home. Now why would they do that if they were getting spat upon? That was NO Myth...didnt necessarily happen at an airport but nam vets were spat at by protesters on many occaisions.
I did it better. :2razz:

This Chickenhawk laid an egg.
All the more reason why the over the top criticisms of the woman by Walsh is over the line. Even if you think the denegrating of John Kerry's purple hearts was reasonable, it's hard to suggest a woman whose clearly suffered significant injury due to her service to this country is someone whose service should be denegrated and told to be kept private.

Just for the hell of it, I went back and dug up a quote of my referencing the "BetrayUs" add. Here it is:
See, this is what we call consistency. I will condemn people on my side who act like assholes too. I wish more people did that.
Good for you. But I wasn't talking about the ad. That was payed for by Soros, and what else would you expect? I was referring to then Senator Clinton when she said that a willing suspension of disbelief was needed to believe Petraeus's testimony to Congress on the success of the surge. And Harry Reid's comments at a press conference that Petraeus had made dishonest statements in the past.
You can hardly call one of the first women ever to serve as a combat pilot, who gave two limbs in service to her country, and has continued to serve and further work for other veterans anything other than a hero, yet he did. Further, she does talk about other issues. And lastly, most veterans, especially within the first few years of service, it is something they tend to talk alot about. I know I do. And lastly, her service to her country is a big part of what she is running on.
By the way, your trying to distract the topic by bringing up unrelated events is very telling.
I don't agree that he called her somethoing other than a hero. I think you and others are taking a minor poor choice of words and building a mountain out of a mole hill. For political points. And believe me if she was running as a conservative candidate the left would definitely call her something other than a hero. President Bush Sr, was called a coward by some on the left for ejecting during a WW2 mission and blamed for the death of his crew and Senator McCain had everything about his military service questioned during his presidential campaign. Two pilots shot down during combat and drug through the mud by some members of the left media. When the expected code for behavior is set so extremely low by those on your side of the aisle it is absurd to feign outrage about such an innocuous use of words.
