Religious radicalism in schools

Not to mention, the theory of Darwinian evolution is one that is so full of holes it is not even funny. When will the anti-Christians realize, we're not going away. No amount of wishful thinking, no amount of persecution, no amount of snarky comments on political debate forums will make us go away. We realize as Christians, we will be persecuted, that's part of the deal, get over it.

Amen. Doing so for over 2000 years.

There is no scientific alternative to evolution. Whatever "holes" you may find, there's no coherent, competing scientific theory that has any legitimate support along people who actually study such things.

So humans evolve but the climate doesn't?

Even if ToE was somehow shown to be incorrect, that doesn't mean that your imaginary friend "poofed" everything into existence. You still need to provide evidence for that.

God started all things including evolution.

My faith is evidence.

Faith is belief without evidence. Faith doesn't even require evidence. By all means believe whatever you want, just keep it out of science class.

Don't pray in our schools and we wont think in your churches.

Not really even that praying is fine as long as it isn't teacher lead or school mandated to do so.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Heb. 11:1

Science isn't that different.

Bible verses are fine if they mean something to you. Just keep them out of molecular biology classes.

So they can teach the climate change hokem, anti-Americanism, anti-authoritism or how Gay is OK but, not the word of God?

There is a place where the Word of God is taught - church - but not in a public school.

I'm not a big proponent of global warming, but there's no reason not to teach the science behind it.

As far as teaching being gay is okay - nothing wrong with that. It is okay, after all. Teaching anything else would be teaching hatred.

I agree that kids today need to learn more respect for authority and respect for their country, however.

Why can't they both [and any others] be taught at the same time.

I thought the idea of education was to expand the mind.

Sorry but [my faith anyway] it's a way of life. 7/24/365

If they are teaching the entire science behind any subject I would agree. Not just the agenda driven ones.

IMO, if they're not going to include Biblical/religious teachings, they should delve into social matters at all. It's not the 'public' school's job to teach what is moral or not.

Reading genesis in a classroom isn't going to teach a student anything about open heart surgery, aerodynamics or splitting atoms.

Creationist Group: Kansas Schools Are Indoctrinating Students into Atheism by Teaching Them

Religion is religion, science is science. To my mind, there is no need to mix these two, especially in schools. Some would say that religious worldview is one of possible alternatives. However, I believe it is our duty as a society to educate our kids in a rational and adequate way. Scientific theories are based on facts and scientific method. But what is behind religion? Superstition and belief. Religion can be an alternative to psychology when it comes personal troubles, but in now way it can be a substitute to history, physics, astronomy and paleontology.
Maybe religious radicals are just afraid of loosing their dominant positions?

I honestly don't give a damn. And I'm a Christian. I'm not afraid of science.

What does piss me off is when people think science should replace religion though.

Persecuted? Are you serious? Christians have been persecuting ANYONE they don't like for centuries. The body count is staggering. Get a grip!

Christians are persecuted around the world on a daily basis, even killed. Don't pretend you are unaware of this situation, it makes you look dishonest.

How is that different from any other religion?

When people rant on and on about members of their particular religion being persecuted and killed it comes of as very disingenuous.

Plan and simple the creationist group is wrong and they are nothing but extremists . . .

As a Christian myself I have zero want for religion to be taught in SCIENCE class nor do I personally know any Christians that want that nonsense.

Just another case of extremists getting noticed because they are the loudest crazies voice or found cause people are looking for a story.

When you can prove God exists, let us know.

What's worse is some have no concept of poetic license or the idea of God years.

Or other idiotic crap that the religious just made up to rationalize their stupid beliefs.

God created the universerse. Science is figuring out how

Science has nothing to do with "belief in god/gods" Dressing up creationism in a lab coat doesn't make it science.
