It's all about this stupid virus. I stopped watching news because it is just a bunch of repetition of what we already know..

don't get it: 600 times more people die from the flu than die from this new virus but i have not heard of a WH task force to fight the flu or billions of taxpayer $$ being thrown at the flu problem.

one interesting thing i learned b4 i stopped watching was: a 90 year old man survived the coronavirus... so even old people can survive!

The same guy probably would NOT survive the flu

But i guess the flu is obsolete news...

Never have seen so much bluster about something that already seems to being playing out in China and will likely be done in a few months. Democrats and the media have again picked a political football to kick around that will soon be deflated.

And this is the problem with our politics/news. It's entertainment. A hobby. You should either educate yourself about what our government/nation is doing, and once educated, move on to live your life. Glued to 24/7 news, and angsty when its not the entertainment you are use to...signals an issue with how you consume news and treat politics IMO.

Couple that with the dumbest of armchair medical expertise from conservatives, and you get a bizarrely tragic showing from Conservatives on this forum all week.

We have vaccines for seasonal flu, and we've studied them for a year or more and watch/predict as they move to the U.S., so we know what we're dealing with.

When has the flu clogged hospitals resulting in hundreds of deaths like we see in Italy? It hasn't in recent years to this degree, that I'm aware of. Why are you not aware of the basic things? Yet claiming its so boring that you've seen it so much.

Maybe you are watching the wrong channels? Where are you getting your lack of information? Facts are often boring, sorry to tell you.

You already evidenced your lack of knowledge about the virus in your opening post, where you cried about entertainment news not being entertaining to you at the moment.
You're not really even following the reasoning in your own thread.

Maybe that low threshold for boredom is a key impediment to learning.

The title is misleading. It should read "Coronavirus is a hoax."

If you want to discuss MSM and sensationalism, you'll have a good thread. If you want to mischaracterize what's going on with the coronavirus, you're going to invite criticism for doing so.

At worst, seasonal flu has a death rate of .1%

COVID-19 has a top death rate of 3.4%, and the lowest death rate is .4%, four times that of the seasonal flu.

Become educated. It’s much better than choosing ignorance.
