In my neighborhood there's a house with two, count them two, Nativity Scene decorations for Xmas.
All lit up and prominently displayed in the front yard. One to the left, and the other to the right of the property.

In between those two Nativity Scenes is a statue of the Virgin Mary that stays put all year around.
She's also well lit and basically front and center.

Now here's the part I need reconciled.

It's December 26th, 2020 and these folks, who obviously wish to announce their "religiosity" to any who pass by, also/still have a "Trump/Pence" campaign sign
prominently displayed (although not illuminated).

How does that work???? How does one rationalize this with any form of logic?

One Virgin Mary, two baby Jesus's, and Trump???

Anyone got anything?

Oddly enough, after thinking about it for a moment, the entire thing makes perfect sense.
Religiosity is about faith - it's not about evidence and not about logic. And so it is with Trump supporters.

The "great" part about religion is that it's entirely subjective and wildly arbitrary. Christianity is fractured into hundreds of denominations with wildly varying interpretations of everything, and most Christians believe they personally have found the one "true" way.

They're just taking their own personal beliefs and viewpoints and slapping a "god" label on it to give it credibility. This is how so many Trump supporters can pretend Trumpism is in any way compatible with Christ's teachings.

Makes perfect sense to me.

1. Brainwashing. A cult is a cult.
2. The Catholic Church is horrible, and so is Trump.
3. But it could be as simple as abortion being their number one issue, as silly as that seems.

Kinda like a "Happy Ending Massage Parlor" that doubles as a religious worship center on Sundays.

Clearly your neighbors are hypocrites.

One cannot in good conscience embrace Christian doctrine and also embrace Trumpism.

Religious leaders have made a Faustian deal with Trump.

Well I'm pretty amazed at just how many Trump Pence flags and posters are still being proudly displayed, even maintained, this long after the election.

As for Trump and Christianity, it beggars belief, the man is the antithesis of Christ, yet in the US Christianity has long been politicized, all jumbled up with guns and patriotism, a huge pseudo intellectual mess.
