Rashida Tlaib stands by Israel and Holocaust comments despite criticism - CNNPolitics

Right now perky AOC is sighing in relief as there is actually someone dumber in Congress than herself. No matter what thoughts Tlaib was trying to express, claiming there is a calming affect when you think of the Holocaust shows you're even too dumb to rise to the ranks of the nickel head club. A bar low enough for almost any liberal to be a member of.

It shows the intensity of her hatred for the Jewish people.

Her words yet everyone calling her out is a racist.

special kind of stupid.

Well, Tlaib, Omar and AOC don't respond well to criticism, rather, they play the victim card to silence those who voice their disagreement and in many cases, disgust with her comments.
I read the article (didn't watch the video) and frankly, her words are a bunch of gobbledeegook. I think she's trying to say that "her ancestors", meaning her as a Palestinian, should just be told "thank you" for allowing Jews to live in Israel, after they lost half their numbers through systematic genocide.

If Trump had said something similar the left would be condemning him all over the place. But, they won't condemn their own kind. In fact, they will find a way to smooth this over.

I'm watching Dan Kildee (on FOX), Democrat from Michigan, and he couldn't be more blase about Tlaib's repeated anti-Israel, pro-Palestine rhetoric. He conveys zero sense of urgency.
Here's what she and Omar and AOC know: Whenever someone disagrees or calls them out, they can use the victim card. Whether it's their sex, or skin color or religion, they will use whatever they can and accuse anyone who dare speak out against them, of being racist, or hating persons of color or attacking them because they're misogynists.
They're Saul Alinsky acolytes.

I can understand why someone who identifies as Palestinian doesn't like Israel.
I don't understand:
Why someone who identifies as Palestinian is in the American Congress, or
What Alexandra Cortez has to do with it.

Okay, the Right is on a campaign to smear our young Muslim congress-women as anti-semitic it appears. Given that she didn't make the "calming" statement in a vaccum we have more of what she meant here:

It's hilarious how the right will flip on a dime when it comes to considering others perspectives. If we have Palestinian-American congresspeople they will bring a different perspective to the conversation. Tlaib's views are colored by how history has impacted her people. Also, she clearly states she's coming from a place of peace and equality and that she wants a safe haven for Jews.

Meanwhile actual Neo-Nazi's in America vote Republican and support Donald Trump. You guys are hilarious. Calling this "calming" statement out in order to misinterpret what is in Tlaib's heart, while bending over backwards to defend Candace Owen's statement about Hitler being fine if he would've just stayed in his country. To be clear, I don't think either person harbors Nazi like sentiments towards Jews. I just find it ridiculous the double standard for when a Democrat misspeaks compared to Candace Owens.

The irony of a Trump supporter complaining about others not taking criticism well is rather funny.

only works for Dems.....see Clarence Thomas

Can you understand why anyone would find 6,000,000 Jews being systematically murdered and many incinerated in ovens calming? Because I can not.

I really do not understand how anyone who calls themselves a Palestian, dresses as a Palestinian to swear her oath of office and wrap herself in the Palestinian flag can be an American Congressperson.
The Founding Fathers understood the danger of dual allegiance.

Deflection and moral equivalency are all they've got.

The irony of screed in the face of antisemitism.

Tlaib is 100% right. It was Palestinians who gave up their land and their rights so that Israel could be a safe haven for Jews. Palestinians paid the sacrifices which made Israel possible. They suffer for it every day. The only just solution to this conflict is a single, unified, secular state which grants both Palestinians and Israelis the chance to live in safety, freedom, and equality.

Amusing, everyone jumped to condemn Representative Omar when she accused Israeli supporting congressmen of having "dual loyalties". And yet here you are doing the same thing.

She doesn't hate Jews, she said in the same interview that she wants israel to be a safe homeland for them.

help me out....can you explain using the word calming in a sentence with holocaust? please

you really believe SHE believes that behind closed doors?

Of course. She is calmed by the fact that her ancestors helped the Jews recover from the holocause by sacrificing their land and livelihoods to allow for the creation of Israel. She is glad that the suffering of Palestinians wasn't for nothing.

This is no surprise or even a question. Tlaib has been completely transparent about her loyalty to Palestine and antipathy towards the very existence of Israel, which she apparently thinks exists at her pleasure and largess.

She doesn't opposes the existence of Israel, she is glad that it is a safe haven for Jews. But she wants it to be a haven for Palestinians too. That seems fair.
