When you are talking about regular immigrant visas you have a point. Visas should be given to those who have something to offer our country. Refugee status is for purely humanitarian reasons.

Well from the pictures I found there seems to be a considerable number of young men. Not only that but Canada at least accepted many times more Vietnamese immigrants than we are accepting Syrians.

I spent the past 15 minutes looking through as many images of those refugees I could find, first, it is hard to gauge... But it seems more what I expected, that there were a lot of women with children, elderly people, and a whole pile of people (men and women) that looked days away from starvation.

Anyway, no, it is completely correct. I know, we are insulated because the U.S. Is the world currency still, so, we have seemingly unlimited money... Sooner or later that situation will end.

Your only counting one group of immigrants coming in... The country is taking millions of people per year, many of them are getting on welfare (in some cases discovered, each family member was individually on welfare) AND working a job.

Next, 60000 that was NOT the ceiling of how many to take in... That was the FLOOR.

70-80k of refugees... So, double it next year, double it again the next year, and pretty soon we'll be talking some real numbers.
