I'm doing a research paper for a political science class about people's different views on racism in America. Just wanted a mix of opinions on whether you think actual racism exists the way we are made to believe, why or why not, and in what situations. I'm personally not looking for an argument just a few varying opinions. Thank you for anyone's help.

Personally, I think racism is bad.

Of course racism exists.

Humans are tribal creatures. We have a natural xenophobia......a fear and distrust of those who are different from us.

The tribe that's on top will always crush the weaker tribes and STAY on top.

When another tribe becomes top dog--they do the same thing.

Endless cycle.

I grew up in the late 50's through the 60's and 70's. I'm still going strong today.

I have experienced quite a bit during that span, but your question is a bit vague.

I guess that in order to provide a valid answer to your question, you need to be more specific about what you consider "the way be are made to believe" means.

What do you mean by racism? That Blacks can't be SoS or make President?

Racism exists far worse than many have ever been exposed to.....and it exists on both sides....make that ALL sides of the aisles.

However, at no point in American history has race been used so methodically to keep a population at odds with one another as has been done by the leftist media over the last 10 years.

Racism in its older "visible" form isn't as prevalent as it once was. That said, "Closet Racism" is very much alive and well. I am willing to bet that had Obama been a white man, he would not have had to endure as much of the criticism that he did. Just my observation after many years of living in the south.

I grew up in a segregated south. Rcism is still alive and well in this country. Until Trump, it was more hidden than when I lived in the south in the 50's trhough almost the 70's. With the advent of trump it has come more in the open than in the past 30 years. It will continue to once again grow as long as Trump is not willing to go after thsoe who follow him that are whtie supremists.

Why POTUS seems to be okay with being admired by "hate groups" is odd. I guess it strokes his ego somehow. Look how long it took him to comment on anti-Semitism with Jewish grandchildren. Odd indeed.

Would you like to guarantee an "F" on your paper? Just do a study on racism within the black community....

Yes, because since you can't see it and there's no evidence of it, it must exist... That's why I'm waiting for the unicorns to graze my lawn so that I don't have to mow it.

So Pres. Obama being supported by the NOI was OK???
