Not at all. People work there way out of the projects every day. People also sell drugs and rob people and are unwilling to try and get them selfs out.
It has nothing to do with having fun or not. It's about having the courage to work hard LEGALLY to get yourself out. Contribute to society rather than leach on it.

The GOP is a party of the elite rich, which in terms of population is a tiny, tiny minority. The only basis they have to appeal to working class people is racism. And last I checked the Republicans are a pretty popular party. So yes, racism is pretty significant for them.
lets see: you have 5 kids with 4 different guys by the age of 19 and you are in the projects. Did you c hoose to live in the projects? Yes you did. No one who dies of smoking related cancer (as my father did) chose to get cancer but they chose to do the stuff that increased the odds of that happening.
There also seems to be this assumption, by some posters, that only blacks live in "the projects". Not so, or at least not around here. You'll find whites and hispanics and asians there too.
People live in the projects mainly because they can't afford to live anywhere better. Mostly, they can't afford to live anywhere better because they've made bad choices in life that have limited their ability to earn.
30 or 40 years ago, maybe even 20, there was some basis for blaming racism for the poverty of minorities. That has changed. I've known far too many black professionals, programmers, engineers, supervisors, managers or business owners to believe it is still a major factor. When I pass through the state college campus, I see as many minority students as I do white students.
Hey, a new day has finally dawned, when race is no longer a big deal. Why can't we recognize that and be happy about it? Heck, I am. It was about time and I'm glad I lived to see it.
I call this prime example of White Denial. I never said only black people are living up in the projects and the majority of peeps on welfare are white. No big shocker there.
You cannot get a job if someone will not hire you due to the color of your skin.
You cannot get a job if someone will not hire you due to the color of your skin.
You cannot get a job if someone will not hire you due to the color of your skin.
Incorrect. You cannot get a job if EVERYONE will not give you a job based on color of skin....
Right, like I said, racism. What color are those welfare mothers presumed to be in the popular consciousness? Racism is amazing. It's how poor white people vote to cut their own welfare, break up their own unions and reduce their own wages--because it's presumed by them that because of white privilege those cuts will only happen to the bad (black and brown) people on welfare. Of course this isn't so, their racism hurts themselves. It's how West Virginia, the poorest, most welfare dependent state voted for Bush twice. So yeah. I believe that racism is the primary motive for poor white people who vote republican. What complete utter horsepoop. There are lots of reasons why non-rich people vote GOP. (And many rich are dems-btw),
1) some people aspire to be rich and are tired of the dems sapping that desire through the addiction of welfare entitlement narcotics
You have to be utterly and completely close-minded and ignorant to fail to see the valid points made by conservatives. There is no point in debating you because of that statement. If you honestly cannot see why poor conservatives exist then you do not know true conservative ideals at all. Are all rich Democrats racist against white people then?I believe that racism is the primary motive for poor white people who vote republican.

Some are just as some dems are. However, the GOP does not have institutionalized racism as part of its program as does the dems. The Dems are the party of affirmative action which is doublly racist. It is racist because it punishes white and Asian students who have no blame whatsoever for the alleged problems blacks suffer today due to what blacks clearly suffered 200 years ago. .
