R.1 Variant Detected in 47 States

No surprise with further mutations such as with R.1 but, unfortunately, now detected in 47 states.

R.1 contains the W152L mutation in a region of the spike protein that is the target of antibodies that could reduce their effectiveness, according to the CDC.

The W152L mutation was also present in a minor variant of the Delta strain that was detected in India.

R.1 also shares a mutation with other variants, namely C241U, NSP12: P323L and D614G. D614G causes increased infections while it is not known what effect the other two have. All three mutations have been detected in strains that superseded the original Wuhan strain.

Using mutations as a argument against the unvaccinated is sketchy. Have you done any reading on how vaccines could contribute to variations?

I'm not anti vaccine, and I had Covid before getting my 2 jabs of Moderna, and I also know that we are not going to vaccinate our way out of this.

There is no reason to call the President Bidunce. You know that is not his name.

If the variant is coming from Mexico why are only conservatives saying it does?
 
First I've heard of this. Something this big, I'm surprised it's not on the nightly news. I googled and found something saying it was in a Kentucky nursing home in March, where everyone was vaccinated. Deaths of vaccinated were reported. WTF?

No it won't. It will become evident that tweaked boosters are not a solution. Continued vaccinations will weaken the recipients. Mutations will defeat the vaccines. We have to focus our efforts on external eradication. We have to put our best minds to the technological task of stopping it in its airborne phase. Thanks!!

That's not a very sophisticated solution but it may be a temporary help. We are at risk. As the npr article pointed out, vaccines can accelerate mutations. We need to redirect our funding and our efforts at eradicating covid in its airborne stage. Thanks!!

Because only "conservatives" are looking for ANY reason to avoid admitting that they are (the largest factor) in the spread of COVID-19.

I do so like your idea of equipping every American with little, teeny, tiny, virus swatters so that they can squoosh them viri before then get a chance to infect anyone.
