Economy of Canada - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
logging and oil I knew. Didnt realise Canada was a big player in the aircraft industry though.
Yes, the economy is quite broad and varied. There is no reason now to be unemployed if you want to work and are willing to go where the work is.
is it likey that Quebec will become independent as they are pushing for?

but you would agree that the US also benefits from this realtionship as open trade with geographical neighbours is the cornorstone to any empire or civilisation
No way in hell.
And not nessecarily because Canada won't get along without Quebec, it's that Quebec can't get along without Canada.
In Canada we have a brilliant System called equalization payments from the "Have Provinces" to the "Have Not Provinces".
So for example Alberta where I live, that does extraordinarily well, sends part of it's money to home province of Nova Scotia to help it out because the province struggles a little bit more economically.
Quebec is surprisingly classed as a "have not" province and is the single biggest beneficiary of equalization.
To leave Canada would be to sink their own economy.
Big difference between recognize and associate.I think Winston had too much class to associate with bookburners.
I know I wouldn't want to associate with bookburners or flagburners.
How about you?
I never said we didn't. However, historically, The United States was prospering long before Canada became a trading partner.
The idea is being floated that all that should change, and it would be about time.
Time for Quebec to end equalization addiction: Montreal think-tank | News | National Post
Depends on the books and the flags being burned.
Well you know it's a tough thing because I think Quebec is in the same situation as Ontario in terms of manufacturing being completely killed off by Asia, which was inevitable and so that hugely impacts especially rural Quebec, passed through there not too long ago and it seems very gloomy.
Places like Montreal still do well of course but with so much of the provincial budget being eaten up by Health care it's very difficult for Quebec to give up the Equalization payments.
I mean what province would give it up?
I'm hoping Eastern Canada can discover more oil and gas, love for the Maritimes to take off economically, such a great part of the country thats people deserve a good streak.
As far as I can tell Canada couldn't have a better neighbor than the US, and I believe the reverse is true as well. All any of us need do is look around the world to see what other neighbors are doing to each other.
As a book lover,I find the thought of burning books abhorable.
But we do live in a free country, and it is allowable to burn books (but like Canada,I don't have to allow those type of people who'd burn books entry into my residence) and flags.
So what type of books do you think is acceptable to burn?
Definitely. Things could be far worse. I'm quite happy with our Canadian neighbors. They can deny entry to our ****heads all they like. I'll just sit here and quietly snicker whenever they do.
I am not arguing for denying people the right to burn books,I don't propose burning books as much as I support someone's right to do so.
when I asked you if you would associate with book burners.Which implies that while you yourself might not burn books, you have no problem associating with someone who burns certain booksDepends on the books and the flags being burned.
I am not arguing for denying people the right to burn books,
I supports someones right also,I jst wouldn't associate with one.

I was just curious as to what books?
I hope the same criteria was applied to these people and they weren't too disappointed that they were unable to defend their positions.
If it wasn't for America, Canada would be a third world country.
Canada gets off on being able to deny US citizens entry IMO, but I have heard that those who have a past can still get in--it just takes a little legwork.
I would like to know why? We probably would have just traded with Britain instead of you.
Would have started trading with Britain? :lamo
We like free speech we just draw the line at wanting death of x group and saying something to purposely cause harm.
From what I understand, anyone with a record is flatout denied entry. I had a guy working for me that had a little sump'm-sump'm on his record and he wasn't able to haul a load of pipe to Alaska.
