Ya he said provision, as for that thing about an earthquake in Hawaii I'd guess it means he either slipped up, because things seemed to be kinda heated at the moment, or that he was referring to something in the past. I doubt, as many people here will surely claim, that he has no idea that the two biggest recent earthquakes took place in Haiti and Chile.

So why does Louisiana need $300,000,000 for higher medical costs for a hurricane that happened 5 years ago?

Where do you far-rights get these? I just saw this same exact story with the same bull**** negative misleading spin on another forum...

There must be a negative spin/talking point clearinghouse the you all go to get your daily marching orders....

You of Media Matters spam fame, and ClimateProgress.org are one to talk about "far" anything nor have you any right to try and claim others get "marching orders"

Yes, people use Teleprompters to give speeches.

Wow you are witty, I feel so taken to task now.

Should I post Obama's off prompter comments... like that time his teleprompter failed? Or I know "My muslim faith", or that old classic about visiting 57 states?

Actually...compared to the job Witt did, Brownie did a HELLUVA job...Compare the response time of FEMA to Floyd vs FEMA to Katrina. 3 days vs 5 weeks. 5weeks didnt seem unreasonable to folks (including Jesse jackson during his interview with him). but then...there was a democ rat in the white house.

Its ALL politics. Its ALL bull**** politics. How people view FEMA response, the mayors preparation (or lack thereof) the governors inaction...etc etc etc. Its all politics and ideology.

And the bribe to Louisiana and Nebraska are just part of what makes this current process so corrupt and why this healthcare legislation is destined to be as prone to fraud as is Medicare.

There is a world of difference between having a teleprompter while giving a speech and having a teleprompter at press conferences...and elementary schools...

Only because Mary Landrieu (who will lose if she runs in 4 or 5 years) needed to make it look like she did something to help Louisiana rather than the reality of taking a bribe to vote for Obamacare. If Landrieu was running in the 2010 election, she very likely would NOT have voted as she did. Most that I know in Louisiana do not want the $300M bribe and do not want Obamacare.

The greatest mistakes before, during, and after hurricane Katrina were done by Louisiana Governor Blanco and New Orleans Major Nagin! That cannot be denied by any thinking individual who knows the facts.

I think Obama relies heavily on the teleprompter because he wants to exude a certain level of professionalism and leadership. I don't think he's as well versed at speaking off-the-cuff like some are. However, I don't think this means that he's somehow unintelligent. Not everyone is good at speaking off-the-cuff. Bush wasn't too good at it either. :shrug:

I don't blame Obama's response merely on the lack of a teleprompter. When he is being disingenuous (which, IMO, he most often is) in trying to represent something to be what it is not (like Obamacare), he is forced to defend the indefensible. This is much easier to do with a carefully worded script such as is available on a teleprompter. New Orleans, where I live, got more than its share of post-Katrina aid. Mary Landrieu's bribe was done in an effort to justify her partisan vote (which probably 70% of her Louisiana "subjects" are against). Obama apparently felt that lingering emotions from 4.5 year old Katrina were enough to justify the bribe. Even Obama couldn't justify the Cornhusker Kickback!

Obama used a teleprompter in front of a group of 6th graders. LOL

When he doesn't have one, he stumbles through confusing statements that he doesn't even understand. His eyes are shifty, he sounds condescending, he is extremely unlikable.

Think about the logic of it...when you write a speech and it is given with the assistance of a teleprompter we can at least ASSUME that the speaker actually had something to do with it.

But..

When your ass is being spoon fed lines by someone else typing your comments for you...what does that make you again?

To the OP....how in the hell is giving Louisiana a $300,000,000 bribe going to help "with the earthquake" in the first place? How is Haiti, Chile, San Francisco, or Pompei going to benefit from this?

Plus, Obama knew less about what was in the bill than Bret Baier. What does that say?

I agree, Teleprompter malfunctions can and do occur.

However in this instance a Teleprompter could / would not have been used as President Obama was in a question and answer interview.

I found this story on a reputable news outlet.

I am inconsolable at the thought that some folk think it unfair that Obama's slip up's should be immediately pounced on and then aired as widely as possible.

What comes to mind is an old saying.

"If you cannot stand the heat, stay out of the fracking kitchen"

If anyone consents to an interview, then it behoves them to be aware of the subject they are going to be interviewed about.
