If you want a different word, just replace it with the Babbitt killing. My comment will still reflect exactly my opinion about this odd situation/VERY double standard of penalties and justice. It's beyond unacceptable IMO. I think Americans should DEMAND equal justice and, if not, we are no longer America.

You're certainly wrong about who is giving it attention. Many fair minded people who were no where near DC on 1/6 and think all riots are a very bad thing are giving it attention - for a very important reasons.
The circumstances of why she was shot and killed need to be explained, the individual who shot and killed her needs to be identified and Americans need to understand what conclusions came from any investigation (if there even was one). An unarmed individual was shot and killed and that is not something that should always be investigated if the person killed is liberal but should not matter or even warrant investigation if the person killed is conservative. That's a COMPLETELY unacceptable situation in this country!!!

I'm all for that.

But in this instance, as sad as her passing may be, it is my opinion she caused her own demise. I think she simply got carried away in the moment, believing her and the other rioters were impervious to danger or being fired upon.

Not sure if you're aware, but the Congressional staffers and police officer had already retreated through multiple inner rooms & doors, as the rioters pursued them deeper into the complex. They were at their final 'safe room', and the cop was holding the rioters at gunpoint, warning them to not advance further.

I have no idea why she didn't heed his commands. However after she was shot, her immediate cohort of rioters did immediately stop their advance, word spread quickly, and the entire complex soon de-escalated. It had become real. So, her death did quite possibly save other injuries and possible deaths.

She was a military vet, with multiple deployments. Such a sad unnecessary loss. And the cop has to live with that, too. I do believe we will not be seeing any shenanigans to this extent, for quite awhile. The government will be better prepared, and other prospective rioters will be wary of charges or even the possibility of losing their lives.

All very good points Chomsky. Tbh, I know very little about the death and don’t know if an investigative report has been released on the matter. I do believe that since it happened on “public” property the public deserves a full and transparent report on the matter.

The reason she was shot is that she made herself an immediate threat to the Congress people behind the final barricade between them and a group of violent rioters.

No need to DOX the agent that did the shooting.

There was an investigation. It is mentioned in this thread.

That you don't know this yet claim it is "unacceptable" is itself unacceptable.
