In recent years, the world of kink lifestyles and subcultures has gained increasing attention. Kink is a general term that includes various expressions of unconventional or non-traditional sexual desires. This encompasses a wide array of practices, including power dynamics, intense sensations/stimuli, role-playing and more.

One such form of role-play that is often misunderstood is known as pup play. Pups are consenting adults who roleplay by dressing and acting as young canines, or pups.
Pup play has its roots within kink communities and gay BDSM and leather subculture. Alongside the sexual component, pup play is viewed by many to be a social activity.

Studies have demonstrated many reasons why people might participate in kink and BDSM activities. For example, personal development, self-expression, overcoming anxiety, relaxation, and to be more socially comfortable. Kink play may also improve interpersonal relationships.

The pup community fosters connections and gathers at various pup events. These include pup competitions where a designated “play space” allows them to cuddle each other, wag their tails and bark.

Gives a whole new meaning to "puppy love", doesn't it?

As the ol' saying goes. Sexy is when you stroke your lover with a chicken feather. Kinky is when you stroke your lover with a chicken.

It's weird and I don't get it, but each to their own.

What I don't like is when they take part in gay pride parades. It has nothing to do with being gay; it's just a sexual fetish and really has no place at a pride parade where there may be children.

OH BROTHER!! Come on down to Toronto for their next annual gay pride parade. What will you see? Crowds, big crowds. Lots of children with their parents. Everyone having a good time. Very few uptight twats whining about gay pride parades.

You better not read the following:

Cheer up, life is what you make it, so bring some joy into it instead of growling in frustration.

Ooops, sorry, probably too much cleavage for ya, amirite?

No problem with gay pride parades, I just don't think people engaging in BDSM fetishes around kids is a good idea.

You linked BDSM fetishes to pride parades. Clearly you have never been to one. Like those on forums like this who never went to a Drag reading but think they are "grooming" kids.
We have those up here in Canada too. Also well attended.
AGAIN, if there are uptight twats out there that can't stand the sight of someone dressed or behaving differently, that is just too damn bad, because they are not harming anyone at pride parades. Do you want me to post daily threads where it is priests that diddle kids? It would be SO easy.
Try a nude beach some time. Or go to a gay bar. Even better, volunteer at a soup kitchen or food bank. Expose yourself (NOT that kind of expose, you know what I mean) to different people so they won't freak you out.

The ****? I've been to pride parades, I've probably spent more time in gay bars than you have. My sister is gay.

Yeah, I've seen pride parades going down high streets in the middle of the day where there were plenty of children out shopping with their parents, and these dog BDSM people were there. It was inappropriate for the setting. It's nothing to do with being gay; it's a fetish that straight or gay people can be into, so why is it even at gay pride?

Don't do BDSM kinky stuff in front of kids. That's hardly a controversial stance.

ONCE AGAIN - you equated BDSM with pride parades. And I call BS on your claim about them being at pride parades. Because I've been there and never saw that. Neither did the crowd. So either you are making things up just to win the argument or you attended one where that DID happen and think that all pride parades are like that.
You seem to be stuck on this notion of BDSM in front of kids. Since that doesn't happen at pride parades or Drag Queen readings, I don't know why you have this bone to pick. But clearly you do. So pick it. No skin off of my nose.

It does happen; I've seen it. I've seen these dog BDSM people at gay pride parades in full gear, in the middle of the day walking down high streets while families are out shopping. Maybe that doesn't happen at your local pride march, but it happened at mine.

Did you choose to attend the parade just to be outraged at people who live differently than you?

It was a parade walking down a busy shopping street on a Saturday afternoon. I didn't go to it, it came to me.

I'm fine with gay pride, but maybe best to keep the dog BDSM kinky stuff out when it's likely to be seen by kids maybe?
