The point is that it's a lousy attempt to minimize several thousands of Chinese in the streets across China by saying a billion people aren't doing it. This is similar to Nixon's lame "silent majority" trick pony against antiwar demonstrations and protesters in the streets while 275 million Americans weren't doing it.A couple thousand, out of a billion citizens. This is not a a popular revolution.
No. You are a decade behind. Xi has not arrested any of his predecessors, and Jiang not only has no power whatsoever, he's also dead. There was no coup, and its telling how you dont bother to source this accusation.
Wrong
It's no secret Xi wanted but could not execute the arrest the late Jiang Zemin the former president of PRC and chairman of CCP -- Xi knew at last he couldn't get away with detaining his strongest and most powerful opponent in the Party. Jiang's son easily inherited his late father's political muscle and is carrying on his father's pursuits to take Xi down. Jiang kept control of the PLA while Hu Jintao was president and chairman, before Xi ascended in 2012 as Hu's scheduled successor.
Xi is a CCP "Princeling" while Hu came up through the Party Youth League. The implication of Xi being a 'crown prince' of the Party is hereditary, ie, Xi's father was a CCP founder and in the close circle of Mao's generals. Xi though has no military experience which causes resentments due to Xi considering himself a military genius who is moreover going to deliver Taiwan to the Boyz in Beijing. Hu has no Party pedigree so he rose through the Party Youth League based much more on merit and determination. These two factions remain at odds inside the Party with the princelings having had access from youth to corrupt incomes and favored positions.
Xi's arrogant conceit is his own worst enemy both at home and abroad.
