I don't believe union employees lose a day's pay for such occurences. The Union will fight for their workers to get paid.
You would be believing, wrong. The union isn't going to pay for this. Besides that, not everyone that makes a living out of those ports is a union hand. There are plenty of non-union truck drivers in and out of their everyday.
I didn't say "the union will pay for this".
I said the Union will negotiate with the employer to get the workers reiumbursed for the day.
And, a you're still wrong. You sure don't know much about how unions work, for a big time unionist.
FACT: my union negotiated with the city and won back a vacation day, for all those who could not get to work due to the big snowstorm last year that the city didn't clean up.
A big snowstorm and a bunch of protesters deliberately blacking access to workers are two completely different things, especially if some of protesters are the dock workers.
snow....protesters...transit strike...I don't see much of a difference.

Snow not being cleaned up is the city's fault. The protest was not the fault of those who own the dock companies, but some of the dock workers and protesters. It would be like trying to get paid for a mess you helped cause.
100 dock workers block access to 10,000 other dock workers...and none should get paid?
sounds like making an excuse for the company to save some money.

Protesters halt operations at some ports
I think OWS is missing the target on this one. What they are doing is hurting workers, not the businesses, shareholders and 1% they are looking for. It seems more like they are after the 89%...those with jobs.
This proves their mission is only to disrupt, not to protest.

Which is terrorism, and with the new bill they want to pass, the terror suspect-detention bill, they could lock up the OWS forever.....
just shows you didn't even read the bill.
You are ok with legislation to permit the government to imprison American citizens indefinitely without trial if they are suspected of terrorism?....
just shows you didn't even read the bill.
So you read the bill then? Can you copy and paste some text from the bill to show the fears were unwarranted?
