Federal immigration agents raided a cannabis farm in Camarillo, California, owned by Glass House Brands Inc., on July 10, 2025, leading to some severe clashes with protesters and the detention of illegal labor, pot farm workers. I've read that similar raids occurred in nearby Carpinteria and other parts of Ventura County on the same day, targeting migrant workers at agricultural sites. Some might call this demonstration an insurrection! I've no problem with a big community peaceful response but physical confrontation with federal agents, no! These people are out of control, unlawfully going up against federal ICE agents.

Protesters and federal agents clash during raid at Southern California farm

A confrontation erupted Thursday between protesters and federal officials carrying out a raid on a Southern California farm, with authorities throwing canisters that sprayed what looked like smoke into the air to disperse the crowd.

Vehicles from Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Protection blocked the road in a largely agricultural area of Camarillo, California, lined with fields and greenhouses. There were military-style vehicles and a helicopter flying overhead.

Television images showed dozens of demonstrators gathered on a road between fields where uniformed officers stood in a line across from them. In other images, white and green smoke can be seen as protesters retreat. Other images showed protesters shouting at agents wearing camouflage gear, helmets and gas masks. It wasn’t clear why the authorities threw the canisters or if they released chemicals like tear gas.

There was a time when it was acceptable in the United States to make unpaid or underpaid persons work in difficult agricultural jobs, and the government just stayed out of it.

Glad we have progressed past this.

I guess I'm missing the "insurrection" part in your post.

If anything, seems like heavy handed federal agents.
Their illegal blocking of roads and clashing with federal agents from ICE, Border Patrol, and Customs and Border Protection is what is heavy handed. You don't think it's heavy handed to throw rocks and objects at LE who had already announced for the protesters to disperse? It is like an insurrection, when heavy handed protestors are trying to prevent ICE agents from doing their jobs.

Insurrection, as defined by U.S. law (18 U.S.C. § 2383), involves a violent uprising or organized resistance against the government with the intent to overthrow or obstruct its authority. What do you think these violent illegal protestors are doing, other than obstructing ICE's authority?

Only because the ICE agents are out of control. It takes two to tango, and they be a-tangoing. It is the job of ICE to manage the situation so that it does not get out of hand. They are not doing their job, because Trump wants this to be a confrontation.....

If anyone is in this nation illegally, now is a good time to self-deport, then possibly in the future they can come through legal channels.....we have laws.

The days of Biden/Harris, come one come all and get free everything at the expense of taxpayers are over.

In Carpinteria, 100–200 protesters, including local officials, blocked roads and confronted agents, with reports of a Homeland Security vehicle’s tires being slashed.

Your fanfic needs a better big bad than Biden.

In San Francisco, protests outside immigration courts involved physical attempts to block ICE vans, with some incidents escalating to violence, including agents drawing weapons and protesters throwing themselves onto vehicles.

We haven't though, since Trump was trying to make exceptions for farmers then he TACOed and it will be hard to tell what his stance will be tomorrow or next week.
