This is your issue more than it is mine and your 'solution' is the most radical and unrealistic one imaginable. Climate change is here to stay. Doing what we can to limit emissions is a good thing if it is done in a way that doesnt put undue pressure on our freedoms and our economy. But if the activities of 8 billion humans is going to alter the climate then we need to plan for it and adapt to those changes.

So your solution is to do nothing.

As I said before- you don’t understand the problem.

The damage to the economy, and to your precious freedoms will be multiple times worse than taking reasonable steps to mitigate warming. This isn’t really an arguable point if you look at the science.

And you’ll let everything burn because you think being steered toward electric vehicles is some kinda commie plot to destroy your freedom, while you can’t even see that you’re being steered towards other things by other, more sinister and cynical actors.

As I said, you are convinced of your fierce independence while being utterly dependent on a system you don’t understand.

Libertarians seem to believe climate change isn’t real because they recognize they have no solutions to address it— and accepting it as real would be at odds with their stupid ideology, so they do anything they can to dismiss/ignore it. That alone should set off alarms that maybe your underlying beliefs about ‘freedoms’ are a bunch of crap.

There is no solution, You said so yourself. We achieve net zero here and the climate still warms. And achieving net zero here means a loss of our rights and our standard of living. Those are all facts and its a price I am not willing to pay.

I think you do not believe anything can change without some type of Government action requiring it to change.
While we have plenty of examples of change via government action, things do change organically.
The cost of finding and extracting oil will continue to increase, without any action on the part of the government.
If battery electric cars were better and less expensive than IC cars, people would be buying them, without a government tax credit.
Do you remember the tax credit given for people to get flat screen TVs, no because it was not necessary.
Flat Screen TV's were a clearly better product.
We do not know what will be the clearly better energy product in the future, but it is unlikely to be whatever the government
is mandating.

Then you are contradicting your own argument. You said climate change would not end if the US achieved zero emissions. And we arent going to achieve it and the most populous nations on the planet arent even going to try. So it is here to stay, which means we must adapt to that change whatever it might be.

I cant know whats in your mind, and surely you must have read the exec summaries of both of these documents.

So if you have, are you implying that you are good with all of the science they describe? Or are you just clueless about what they say and need someone to read them for you? Its one or the other.

China and Indias Energy use is growing and their emissions are growing. They arent aiming for net zero and the standards they have to meet are low. You are just ignoring reality. The climate is going to change and there is nothing we can do about it.
