How do you determine if a pregnancy is "at risk" of having an abortion. You can't get much more government over reach than this bullshit.

"The Division is required to make and maintain a central registry of each expecting mother who is at risk for seeking an abortion and a central registry of each prospective adoptive parent who has successfully completed certain screenings, background checks, home studies, and other investigations to ensure the fit of the prospective parent to adopt a child," the bill said.

Bad idea. I get the concept, or the stated motive - but there's no way this works, even to the goal intended.

First: how does one determine if an expectant mother is "at risk for seeking an abortion?" Pure hubris to even think that's possible.
The latter portion, about prospective adoptive parents is doable - but I have a hard time believing such a list isn't probably already in place in a host of adoption agencies.

Second: the very concept of the government keeping a list of pregnant women is anathema to the very concept of personal privacy, let alone personal liberty.

No - bad, bad idea. And one I hope they extinguish toot sweet.

Agreed that this is idiotic. Someone who doesn't want to get pregnant will check with home pregnancy tests, and she doesn't have to buy them herself. Then, she'll make an appointment for an abortion or arrangement for abortion medications - she could do this by long-distance phone if she didn't want to leave traces online.

The only women who are likely to be "at risk" for seeking an abortion are women who have gone to non-abortion doctors regarding their pregnancies - and they are more likely to want the pregnancies but have health problems that could become serious.

The people who want the system haven't thought about this in a practical way at all.

This is pure craziness. I guess this Amato creep forgets abortion is still legal in many states, and women are still free to travel out of state for an abortion, so there's no justification for tracking these women? Talk about an invasion of privacy and a waste of taxpayer money- this stupid bill will go nowhere.

Not to mention, abortion pills are readily available online from many many sites. Just did a quick google search- over 10 pages of sites....

It will never fly in that form but it's disgustingly misogynistic. Very indicative of attempts to come.

Women dont need to go to Drs now to confirm pregnancies, the over-the-counter tests are very accurate. Take 2, you know for sure. Women would just not tell anyone until they had decided what to do. Even if they told someone, what would the state do, force them to take a pregnancy test?

Pre-birth, ONLY the Woman should have any recognized Rights relative to Her pregnancy, immediately post-birth Only Her Doctor should become involved in Her decision, and ONLY after Her decision resulting in an infant has been made should government begin to have any Rights relative to the new born.

I bet they are planning on rotating guards watching pregnant women who might be flight risks for an abortion and call in the Fuzz.

And under what law are you going to stop a woman from leaving the state to do what is her right to do? Talk about a gestapo state.....I have a hard time believing America is ready for that...

Wouldn't they just make a new law?

It is already happening with this law, isn't it or did I miss something?

Since they would use AI to track this, I'll ask ChatGPT4. One sec....

Yeah, there's that...but that kind of law may be a bit harder to pass. I Think many folks, including congress critters are getting a bit freaked out now, and given trumpdumps failing poll numbers I can only hope he continues his downward spiral, for the sake of all of us.

Are his numbers going down? I honestly have not even checked...

EDIT: Not a lot but here are some interesting figures.

From everything I'm seeing online (fox news doesn't count) his numbers are tanking as they should. So are garbage Musk's. UGov.com just published their latest results.

Well, this is Missouri we're talking about. It's right there with Alabama, Florida, and Texas with the stupidity. Maybe it's something in the Gulf of Mexico's water?

How could you leave out Mississippi?

The best way for women to avoid being targeted and end this bullshit would be if they stopped having sex.
