Online gambling, payday loans, escort services etc are targeted. I don't agree with the action at all and it should be stopped immediately but I'm really tired of the whining and trying to turn every thing into some politicized witch hunt.

Congress launching hearings on complaints businesses targeted by 'Operation Choke Point' | Fox NewsBrennan Appel, owner of Global Hookah Distributors, said he realized he was a victim of Operation Choke Point after he got a letter from Bank of America telling him that after 12 years of working together, it was closing all his business and personal accounts.
Appel said a few months later, his payment-processing company also dropped him. "I started this business when I was 18 years old, funded my way through college with it and have continued on growing the company into what it is today. And I feel like, why do you get punished when you are growing a company?"
Appel began recording his conversations with Alex Bacon, the president of EFT which was his payment processor. He wanted to prove he was the target of Operation Choke Point.
. . .
Initially, the FDIC put out a list of 30 high-risk businesses, but that list has since been rescinded.
The above contradicts your ill-informed view.I do too...but the narrative that Obama is using this to target only X is ridiculous.
No, I think that DOJ is using illegal means to harass lawful civilians engaged in lawful acts in their pursuit of happiness. The issue is that the Dept of Justice is using means to shutdown otherwise "legal" business operations.
The above contradicts your ill-informed view.Of course, most of these operations occur in a very grey area (prostitution is illegal but escort services are legal)
On this point we agree.but I think it should be ended.
I know it's a novel concept but how about Issis and Republicans in the House actually stay on topic regarding the issue instead of trying to turn this into another highly political dog and pony show?
comedy.. and who is paying he rest of it?...adn if you dont buy it are you "fined"...?..
Your posts are liberal garbage
Yeah, affordable health care and all the standards raised by the ACA are horrible. Certainly more horrible than Jim Crow. Ahaha, get it?
Err. No.

WTF is wrong with Ammunition Sales, Coin Dealers, Firearms Sales, Fireworks Sales, Home-Based Charities, Pharmaceutical Sales, Surveillance Equipment, Tobacco Sales?? Other than not aligning to the liberal / progressive / Democratic 'push agenda'?
Why do you look at a list like that and see a political agenda?
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for contributing to my healthcare. For years I have not been able to afford any health insurance, but now, because of Obamacare, I have a policy. It is infinitely better than the one I had before. I pay my $90 every month and am grateful for the $800 subsidy you and my other friends provide. Thank you.
Why do you look at that list and fail to see the political agenda?
Because coins and pornography don't strike me as useful targets for political gain.
Besides ammunition sales which one of those can you really make an argument for as something either liberal or conservative....also, as of 2015 the guidance points to individual sellers rather than whole industries...which it should of done in the first place.Err. No.

Well it does depend on the business doesn't it? If it's a coin dealer that has a high amount of sales which have been associated with money laundering lets say that's a little more palatable. Still don't agree with the policy. So killing off entrepreneurs of small businesses. That's a pretty low blow to the middle class, don't you think?
No it doesn't....since when has a Hookah seller been synonymous with conservative Americans? Pharmaceutical sales? Pornography? The only thing on that list that even gives off a whiff of targeting would be weapon sales and ammunition sales...that's it.The above contradicts your ill-informed view.
Because that benefits the DOJ....how...No, I think that DOJ is using illegal means to harass lawful civilians engaged in lawful acts in their pursuit of happiness.
They wont, most likely you will say a change of policy that creates a much more strict guidance for the FDIC. We've already seen some changes in which they have changed the targeting to individual businesses rather than whole industries...This abuse of government power, this liberal / progressive / Democratic push agenda cannot be allowed to proceed. It needs to be terminated forthwith, and those responsible criminally charged with this abuse of government power, so as to forestall another recurrence.
if that was sincere... Id say "youre welcome" but .... you do know medicare and medicaid were cheaper for you and better ...

Edit: that was for Los Angeles. In other places like Spokane it can be as low as $22. The inconsistency is irritating, to be sure, and would have been infinitely easier if we'd gotten single payer like we wanted.
Yeah, affordable health care and all the standards raised by the ACA are horrible. Certainly more horrible than Jim Crow. Ahaha, get it?
So then why do you believe it's justified for the government to hassle legitimate and lawful operating businesses and their owners?
Nice dodge BTW, there's a long list who are (including those 2), and its' obviously ones that have run afoul of the administration's agenda.
Totally off topic, but with healthcare as low as $22 a month (or $119 or whatever), why are there millions of people still uninsured...what, 30+ million or so? I thought these poor people all wanted insurance but couldn't get it and couldn't afford it?
Back to Carson. He isn't a serious candidate. Never was. And his problem is he isn't a politician, as evidenced by the fact that he's honest, says what's on his mind, and doesn't bull**** voters (like the rest of them do). That's why he'd be better staying in the field where he is obviously among the best, and leave the politics to the weasels, snakes, manipulators and frauds. We may not like what he says, but he says what he believes. Can't say that about many politicians.

What about the millions of middle class folks that have seen their coverage rot to a shadow of what it was and at a higher cost?
There was a vastly better way to help you without destroying what was good about the old system. Obamacare ultimately will mean worse care for more money for almost everybody, except the government and wealthy.
He needs to re-evaluate who his advisors are.
I know that there is a lot to be improved in Obamacare, do doubt. But, like I said, I didn't have a choice.
Isn't this thread about Carson?
What's all this **** about the IRS, Lois Lerner, emails and ACA?
Wayyyyy off topic.
The move toward less privacy is a trend set by both major parties. It's why I don't have any patience for conservatives criticizing Obama for this -- they don't represent an alternative that would reverse this trend.
Yea but Obama promised transparency. [so you might need to get some patience]
