When he donates a "portion" of what his resorts earn from hosting government business - all of it, backdated to the day he took office - then I'll be impressed. Since he had "foregone" the salary anyway (in receipt of said profits), this is hardly an altruistic sacrifice.
 
Considering his little golf outings cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars each year and he's actively attempting to cut billions from the CDC and other agencies, his 300k a year is literally meaningless.

He's not fooling the majority of the American people. He's been milking the tax payer for 3.5 years now accepting emoluments. He is desperate to make a move that makes him even remotely acceptable to the majority. It doesn't work for me. All you have to look at is his greed throughout life and you know it's a con.
 
I would not be at all surprised to learn that Trump never donated his salary even once.

Although, he has resorted to this particular piece of theatrics on several occasions.

I doubt that he ever actually did it.

Remember that he hosted a fundraiser for Veterans during the 2016 campaign and pocketed the proceeds (until the Washington Post caught him).
 
I've always been surprised and impressed when he does this. Good on Trump, and I hope he follows through. I know he has for most of his salary donations, and maybe all of them. Wish more billionaires would donate more to the government.
 
How can he legally donate to any particular agency? He can donate to the US treasury but I’m not aware of any federal law that allows someone to donate to an agency or cause..

A nice, if meaningless, gesture. Its not nearly enough money to do much of anything on the scale needed.

BFD, while he fleeces the American Taxpayer every time he plays golf ( more than any prez in history ) at Mar-A-Lago, to the tune if hundreds of millions which go right into his pocket

Speak to me about it if and when he donates that dough to the coronavirus.

( a 'portion' ? of ...) $450k won't help that much, maybe buy some masks to the residents of queens, who are gagging over the prospect that he is president.
