President Donald Trump directed his longtime attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, according to two federal law enforcement officials involved in an investigation of the matter.​

18 U.S. Code § 1622 - Subornation of perjury

Whoever procures another to commit any perjury is guilty of subornation of perjury, and shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.​
 

I doubt Senate Republicans or, more importantly, the base will care. Trump will deny. They will believe. As the world turns.

Base is just loyal. Some are painfully stupid. But, mostly loyal. They hate liberals and they recognize that Trump will take their side in all their culture wars.
 

I suspect we will see many more like this in the coming weeks. But isn't it ironic that on a night with so much hubbub about airplane flights authorized and not that we can mark it down. This is the night we can start saying as the stewardesses say on your way to the jetway and off the plane, bu-bye Donald, bu-bye now, bu-bye.

No wonder the Trump legal team would not allow Donald Duck to sit down with Mueller and would not answer any written questions regarding obstruction or suborning perjury.

Let me guess. Those two unnamed sources are named Strzok and McCabe. Two proven liars, proven leakers and proven Trump haters.

What I find amazing is that we've been seeing a lot of leaks come out of Mueller's investigation...after almost two years of being very tight lipped about it. Could it be that Mueller wants to sway opinion as much as he can before he drops his wet firecracker on the AG's desk?

But don't even think I'll believe a proven liar, leaker, hater and crook when they say they saw it happen.

He never said he didn't tell him to do it, he just said he never did it himself!






History is balanced on one hell of a vertex. I don't see many good options in any direction.
 

A) the two buzzfeed sources are federal investigators read into the case. That is not the Mueller team.
B) there are multiple corroborated sources and corroborating documentation according to those two buzzfeed sources
C) we have seen the beginnings of this particular material in multiple court filings. Hence, its not that shocking on its face. Its just damning FINALLY. Anybody with a brain knew this is where we were going. Anybody who has watched Donald for decades knew this was inevitable
D) we finally have a means to understand the Trump legal team's reluctance to either have Trump sit for a Mueller interview or answer even written questions regarding obstruction or suborning perjury

See ya' Donald! At the least 2020 is all done. That is if you make it that far.

And watch....if you think we are not going to see more of these with more characters, you are living a fantasy.

Well...

The allegations are from "unnamed sources" who are reporting what Cohen is alleged to have admitted to the Mueller investigators.

This appears to be hearsay. Moreover, it is based on alleged admissions of a convicted felon, Cohen having been convicted of crimes unrelated to the Trump campaign...oh yes, except for pleading guilty to so-called campaign finance violations.

He has also pled guilty to lying under oath.

Now, any defense attorney would have a field day, Cohen being such a tainted witness. So unless there is solid corroboration of these second hand allegations?

I prefer to wait to see what "facts" Mueller actually announces. :coffeepap:

The only names source buried in the middle says the claim is a lie. Buzzfeed claims it's story instead is based upon unnamed sources, meaning Buzzfeed can tell any lie they want to. Anytime I read "unnamed source" now I conclude the article is a complete lie fabricated entirely out of thin air. Press and media can lie all they want to - and do.

Dumbocrats will believe any lie if it is about Trump, truth and facts irrelevant.
 
If there is one funny thing about this going back to my comment about finally being able to understand why the Trump Legal Team would not allow Trump to sit for a Mueller interview and would not even allow Trump to answer written questions regarding obstruction or suborning perjury, it relates to what that Legal team actually knows v what they might guess.

None of these attorneys was around for the campaign. So for all intents much of what might fall under the umbrella of collusion or conspiracy they have not seen with their own eyes and if anybody thinks Donald has been honest with them on that topic, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I would like you to look at. But the Obstruction is something these attorneys have lived with everyday in all likelihood and have been saying "No Donald, you can't do that! No Donald, you can't do that!" in an unending stream. So while they could only guess regarding Trump's legal exposure on conspiracy and impeachment risk on collusion, the obstruction stuff was smacking them right in the face every day.
 
Yes, I agree verification is key. However, the article also states Mueller has plenty of evidence, to where he knew about it before Cohen admitted to it.

Again, verification is important, but if it's true, then it is game over.
