Overall, I thought it was a very good SOTU speech. It hit all the right points, and Biden actually got through that speech eloquently.

Somebody bullshitting about freedom and big government who wants to take away women's rights to healthcare, people's freedom to marry the person they love, and who wants to take away/censor books about our American history, not the fairy tale they tell, but our true history. This is the representative of the party who wants to throw away or manipulate the votes of the people in a United States Presidential election, just to cheat and lie to win.....after they clearly lost. I can’t understand how you see it so positive when people are in a worse off position. They are unable to save, are using their credit cards more, needing to find a second job to have the same spending power that a single job had just a few years ago.

For my employer they like to use the not enough workers to go around, but in reality it is not being able to find people able to pass the drug test and maintaining new hires. A large obstacle is finding younger people who are willing to work and not play on their phones. Right before Xmas a coworker took a call from an employees mom wondering why her some was written up for loafing when he got caught watching Netflix.

one with U.S. military on the trip to Iraq, referred to him as the former president and the word "Trump" is entirely absent from her speech.

It's been 13 years since Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) inte4rrupted Obama's STU speech.

First Off: I have not read any responses to this thread, yet. Second: I have not watched the SOTU, yet. Third: I have read the annotated transcript of the speech as delivered.

Those caveats out of the way now I can move on, with all of my learned and esteemed opinions, OK.

As read, it was an excellent speech.

It was inspiring in it's reading. I think it was a timely speech at a timely moment and that it did not strike any ugly partisanship blows. It came across as adamant about what good has been accomplished together and what good can yet come from working together. That is up to both parties and both houses of congress and the Oval office all working together for the People!

I did not read a strident tone in the speech but Joe made it unambiguous what pieces of legislation to land on his desk would be non starters, unless of course there could be an impossible VETO override. Joe never mentioned the override, but he was adamant about the VETO's.

Joe played very strongly to the American people, in the reading of the speech, with an understanding and conciliatory tone. I like his "I get it" interjections.

He made some partisan contrasting remarks, but nothing that in reading it, felt over the top or strident.

I did like his heckler responses.

I haven't seen a full point by point "fact checking" accounting yet, but the annotated transcript I read did have fact checking, and context expanding reporting accompanying the speech transcript.

There were some items left out, as there always is, but in toto I give the written speech an A- grade.

In the past, I have wondered how a US president would cope with such a raucous atmosphere.
Turns out, President Biden.....our oldest prez...... handled things pretty well.
