Powerball jackpot grows to record $1.9 billion as no tickets matched all winning numbers Saturday

Here ya' go, below!

I suspect you might approve. I think these guys in the article did it right. Quite honestly, it's a blueprint with the basics of how I might do it if I were to strike it big.
Damn, I still don't see it.

I just dropped $20 to pick up 10 shots at tonight's. You have to be in it to win it.

I honestly wouldn't want to win a jackpot that big - imagine all the kooks and scam artists who'd come out of the woodwork.

$10 million or so would do me just fine.

You don't have to release your ID if you win. My first move would be to have my lawyer handle the transaction.

Nope, I tried copying the URL and pasting it directly into browser - still end up on Trib's current page. Turned off Adblock - not recommended, way, way, way too many adds/.

I'd go to a corporate law & accounting firm that handles big accounts. A local lawyer being in charge of a billion dollar guy's legal affairs for the first time? Don't care how much I've liked or trusted him/her up to that point; wouldn't trust him/her farther than I could throw him/her after. Humans are humans.

There's not a lot of additional insight to provide here:

Quite simply, Monday's Powerball drawing will be the largest lottery-pot in the history of the world! 2B USD! Even the cash lump-sum prize option will be a billion or more dollars take-home!

--

Can you imagine going to bed, and waking up a billionaire? And not just a mere billionaire, but a billionaire with a billion liquid! Liquid!

It's actually kind of scary.

Enjoy your dreams!
Yeah, I was truly in shock no one won with as many tickets as they sold. I bought some and I'll buy a couple this time too.

I personally know 3 different people in my small city of several thousand, that all won the state super lottery to the tune of millions of dollars each.
It wasnt anything like this amount, but it was from 3 to 9 million dollars. It happens.
I won 8 tickets to the All Blacks vs Samoa a while ago.

All Blacks won by 80 points, or something.

Or an annuity of about $63 million per year or around $30 million per year after taxes. Additionally a powerball annuity can be left to another person via estate.
I didn't know it could be given as inheritance when you pass...if I win Imma disappear for awhile

I remember an old saying "You.have the same chance of winning whether you play or not"

Damn, I still don't see it.

How odd.

Try Googling this: "The Secret Millionaires Next Door Tinley Park"

That should get you a link.

If that don't work, let me know. The relevant section isn't too long - so I'll C & P it into a post for you.

I'd rather have $10 million than $1 billion.

If you have $10 million, you are set for life but you can still have a normal life. You can wake up and decide to go to Disneyland and no one will stop you or even care.

OTOH If you have a billion, then there's all sorts of things that become hard to do. You can't go to Disneyland without planning security. At the very least you would have to call them to let them know you are coming so they can arrange security. You probably can't even walk down the street without a bunch of bodyguards and random people begging you for money and/or attacking you for having it. And not just you, your entire immediate family. What kind of life would that be?
You just rent out the whole park for the day 😝

One of my 5 tickets my wife bought today is the winning #. I'll slide you a couple of Benjamins for being a quality poster most of the time ;)

Yeah, just saw that. What would you do with the kind of money?
Buy a Chipotle and eat there whenever I want. You can have free food too.

You can choose to be anonymous I think.

I've been grabbing two tickets for the past few draws. One never knows right?
Its kind of fun to fantisize about winning that sort of cash. Thats legacy money there.

Yeah - but a lump-sum thrown into a solid investment portfolio allows the freedom to do whatever-the-hey you want!
What couldn't you do with $63 mil a year though that you could with w/e the lump sum would be? I really couldn't think of much to spend that much a year on, tbh. I'd be just giving it away to charity or starting my own.

That kind of money a year for me would go into my business. Same for the lump sum. Helps the most people that way.

Here is my question, what is the most ridiculous purchase that you all would make?

Lump sum is just under 1B. 60M/yr is my estimate of 10% of the investment income stream without touching the 1B principle . But that's only in year one. It will go up, since you're leaving 90% of the generated income to be rolled-over & compounded.

It's simply mind boggling!

Don't slide me some Benji's, toss my the ticket! :p
