In your Post #168, you pointed out that a 250th anniversary can be a big deal.Huh? Is there a point here?
So what? That would have been 1975 - end of the Vietnam War - not a good time for military celebrations.I pointed out that the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the US Army did not include a military parade.
Well, my wife sometimes takes the consecrated host to those who cannot attend mass, including my mother.Good question. And therein lies the drawback, at least where some are concerned.
To answer your question: you don't.
If the 250th anniversary was a big deal - according to you, so was the 200th.So what? That would have been 1975 - end of the Vietnam War - not a good time for military celebrations.
Bless those people who do this. Both of my parents spent their last years (Mom) and months (Dad) in nursing homes, and they really appreciated receiving Communion in this manner.Well, my wife sometimes takes the consecrated host to those who cannot attend mass, including my mother.
I'm not sure that would be appropriate for those who choose to stream out of convenience.
I doubt there's a lot of overlap between a Flag Day parade in Washington DC (at 6:30pm) and a Catholic event at a baseball stadium 700 miles away in Chicago (at 2:30pm). Worth noting that the DC event is on Flag Day, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Army, and has been in the works for years.
But let's make it all about Trump.
If you have to ask...What's the message?
The Fall of Saigon was April 30, 1975.If the 250th anniversary was a big deal - according to you, so was the 200th.
Re the end of the Vietnam War: a done deal by June 14, 1975.
Weird. I didnt even know about any parade until this thread. Now that I do know about it, I will treat it the way I do the Thanksgiving Day Parade or any other parade for that matter. I wont be watching. So, a usual, your whataboutism is a complete fail. But MAGA will be standing, fully erect, when Trump’s parade starts.
If you can watch them both live, how does one interfere with the other? Answer--it doesnt. Thank you for proving this thread is nothing but TDS run amok. You don't need to tape the events to watch them both.
They'll be running in sequence.
I'm looking forward to a chill Saturday, soaking-up the good of my new Pope and my country's celebration of its Army.
Well, when you had the opportunity to 'help' you put forward Kamala Harris. Thats like throwing an anvil to a drowning man. Sorry, but no one needs that type of 'help'Patriots - those who don't support trump's anti-democratic, anti-American acts - certainly do need the help of other patriots.
In fact, the country needs help.
It's more likely than not.I'm sure the two events are just coincidentally on the same date.![]()
In other words, you are trying to suggest one. Take care.If you have to ask...
Too funny!![]()
Pope Leo sells out US event clashing with parade on Trump...
Pope Leo's appointment as the first-ever American pontiff brought a surge of interest in the United States.www.newsweek.com
tRump is not going to like this!![]()
It would be perfect in the White Sox stadium (whatever it's called now)I imagine this will be true for many. He has already affirmed the Church's stance on abortion and marriage.
I see the tickets selling out so fast. Chicago is his hometown, and the White Sox are his team.
So was 1968.I don’t know your age, but 1974 was rough.
Granted, this is a new guy. But Popes and priests in general tend to stay out of politics. I can't see this one getting wrapped up in the pettiness of the left.I'd love it if the Pope just straight up slammed Trump in his next speach.
Just to see his Christian supporters wrap themselves in knots to call the Pope an idiot to defend Trump but at the same time still claim the Pope in infalible.
The mental knots it would create would be rather fun to witness.

Skipped to June 14th listings on my service provider's schedule. Neither event is listed. Checked NBC's schedule and the same result. Evidently, they don't know how they're going to handle the day. But, there's always reliable C-SPAN.
How do you do Communion?
