The vast majority of Americans think Trump's behavior is inappropriate, unpresidential and unconstitutional, so let's not pretend you care about the opinion of average Americans. Outswamp the swamp is the Trump battle cry.

Inappropriate does not equal either illegal or even corrupt, nor does it mean his father had any part in it or gave him or his company special favor.

It would have been inappropriate for me to sell show tickets to a Junior Sailor, even if the person really liked that artist and no one else really did, and I couldnt go or had an extra pair. But it would violate the UCMJ and even then it would likely only get a write up, not court marshall or even NJP. It is not against the law. It could be inappropriate for your boss to invite you to lunch with them, depending on your position.
