Just 45 percent of Republican voters say they are satisfied with Donald Trump as their party's presumptive presidential nominee, while 52 percent say they would have preferred someone else, according to results from the latest national NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.By comparison, the numbers are reversed for Hillary Clinton among Democrats - 52 percent of Democratic voters are satisfied with Clinton, and 45 percent prefer someone else.
GOP attitudes about Trump break along ideological and educational lines. By a 53 percent-to-45 percent margin, conservative Republicans say they prefer a different nominee to Trump, while moderates are split 49 percent to 49 percent.
Maybe more tellingly, 58 percent of Republicans with a high-school education or less are satisfied with Trump as the party's presumptive nominee, versus 60 percent of Republicans with a college degree who want someone else.

Welp... It may be too late or is the time right for a "coup" against Donald?

Then they should have gotten off of their lazy asses and voted for someone other than Trump in the primary election like I did.
They should read the first part of my signature below.

Clearly, this shows that Republican voters are more discerning and intelligent than Democrat voters.
The Republicans have mishandled this whole thing since 2012. They should have read their own report and started the process of organizing their platform around that.

Had the Republican platform, since 2012, actually been about a vision other than stop Obama, they would likely have a real candidate and a real chance in 2016. But no, instead of articulating a positive vision for the future, they wasted the last four years fueling the flames of anger and hate.
No, they just could not control themselves so now they are stuck with the monster they created: Frankentrump,.View attachment 67203368
They are both the worst candidates to ever run for the office.
Sad, sad state of affairs.
Yea, I this point we have the two worse candidates, cruz would have been a close 3rd, that we could possibly have. Oh well, I am sure the country has survived worse.

The only thing the Republicans did wrong, in my opinion, is have party rules in place that allow anyone breathing to walk off the street and qualify for your party's Presidential nominee. How is that possible? Here, in order to run for any office, you have to be a card carrying party member, have a significant number of party members support your entering the race, and put up significant dollars to be on the ballot. Seems in the US you can just walk in front of a microphone and declare you're in and the party can't do anything about it.

Maybe, but had they (the Republicans) done what I suggested (and they suggested, as it was their analysis), the electorate never would have tolerated Trump and he never would have come this far. The Republicans cultivated the garden that nurtured the weed Trump. (first he is a monster and now he is a weed.... they are both appropriately illustrative, however).
Let me be more direct: the Republican party mismanaged their message.
Except Trump had all that. And no to your last sentence - entirely wrong. I bolded the part where you seem to believe that only the very rich can ever run for our highest office.

Okay, that made me laugh - - primarily because it seems to be true.
Yep. The GOP has allowed and even fanned the fringe elements in the Republican Party. Including Trump's brither BS in 2012. The GOP saw the fringe and Trump as 'allies', as anti-Obama. And anything, or anyone anti-Obama was good in their eyes. Well now that fringe, and those 'allies' have come back to bite the GOP right in the ass.
They help build the monster called Trump, now that monster has turned on them.
Well, no. But thank you for parroting the liberal talking points on this. Let me help you out here. Trump won the nomination because he had the winning message. Unthinking liberal believe Trump won because of his supposed race baiting and crude remarks. The truth is he won in spite of those things. He tapped into the same discontent that Ross Perot did, and that Sanders did. Trump is struggling because the guy has no filter. If he were capable of showing an even modest degree of decorum and maturity he would be leading Clinton 60-40. Because he isn't able to behave in a manner that is even remotely presidential is why his support is slipping even among those who used to support him. In short, people like the idea of Trump. The reality of Trump is what is sinking his ship.
