Politically curious - just signed up. Hi everyone!

Hi everybody:

I am fairly new at political discussion, but I've come to find myself completely addicted and this forum looked like a good place to learn and discuss.

I post comments on a couple of news/politics blogs, but I've been looking for a place where one can discuss/debate ideas that doesn't dissolve into hating matches. But I'm *not* one of those "why can't we all just get along and be nice" people either. I just enjoy a passionate civil argument or discussion but sandbox spats don't make a whole lot of sense to me (particularly when I am foolish enough to get sucked into one <g>).

I listed myself as leaning Independent, but I'm not entirely sure that's accurate. My voting history is basically pro-Democrat, but there are problems I have with certain generalized arguments of the party. So I'm trying to figure all this stuff out.

I feel a little silly posting this, but it looks like its what I'm supposed to do.

I don't know if anyone will actually stumble across this post, (and I certainly don't expect any responses) but I do look forward to participating in these forums.

So that's about it for my mini-introduction.
