This is a sixteen question quiz that attempts to identify your place on the ideological scale.

Of course the results depend on your own honesty...my result.

"Outsider Left" for me.

Establishment liberal. Some of the questions needed more substance and choice. For time in jail I think drug offenses are too harsh while white collar too lenient. No one size.

I got "ambivalent right", which is nuts. Really poorly done test.

You might have some right wing issues that need to be purged.

It tells me I'm a Democratic mainstay, probably due to the temperature, where I said Democrats were a 70 and Republicans were 30. But this question is biased by who the Republicans are -- right now, they are MAGA, which is incompatible with me. Had this been not 2012 or even 2016, in the absence of knowing how Trump turned out or what politicians rode his coattails (MTG, anyone), the number would have been closer to the middle on both sides. What's even more interesting is that when I switched it to where I thought I was ("Stressed sideliners"), I actually matched better with them.

In conclusion, for those of you who didn't get what you thought you would, I suggest you change the category comparison down below and see if there's a better match :)

Surprise surprise, I rated "Faith and Flag Conservative."

I can live with that. :coffee:

Committed conservative.

I think that I took a quiz like this fifteen or twenty years ago. I didn't complete it this time because the options annoy me. I'd place my lean as European center left.

Establishment Liberal

But then, I gave Democrats a 70 and Republicans a 20 because under the current regime I think maybe 20% are decent and understand what it means to be a true Republican. It would have been a much higher number prior to Trump's influence.

I don't think I've met any liberals (outside of here) who didn't agree with one or two things most conservatives believe strongly in. Conversely I've met a few conservatives who's points of view I thought were extreme and I disagree with. I like to think I'm objective or maybe I'm just wish-washy.

Same for me, the Ambivalent Right.
Here’s how the quiz makers describe Ambivalent Right - On issues ranging from the size of the federal government to views about business, gender and race, Ambivalent Right hold many views that are largely consistent with core conservative values. Yet they also hold more moderate stances on several social issues like abortion and same-sex marriage, and they differ from some other segments of the GOP coalition in their more internationalist view of foreign policy and less restrictive stance on immigration.

Ambivalent Right are distinct from other Republican-oriented groups in their views of Donald Trump. While large majorities of each of the other Republican-oriented groups say they feel warmly toward Trump, Ambivalent Right are much less likely to say this.

They’re right as far as Trump is concerned, I never voted for him and never would. In general, I think the quiz and the ambivalent right comes close to my political views. Not bad for just a 16-question quiz.

I'm not sure if I ever wrote this on here, so if not, you're the first one to see my opinion on a Trump loss. If he were to lose, it's a case of the messenger destroying the message. If you simply go to his website and read (or in my case, print out and highlight) his website to the exclusion of even Project 2025 -- just his public-facing platform -- you'll find that what he wants done (on paper) does not look as bad as Trump himself has made it out to be.

But then you add in the fact that Trump is the guy running with that message, and I just cannot in good faith vote for him. But if, say, Mitt Romney (or even J.D. Vance prior to him accepting the VP nod) was running instead of Trump, I'd at least be open to what he has to say. This is what I mean by the messenger destroying the message.

Mind you, they could've guessed that just from your user name.

Same-sex marriage only seems to be a "social issue" in your bubble.

Same-Sex Marriage Support Near Record High

The latest 69% of Americans who support legal same-sex marriage, from Gallup’s May 1-23 Values and Beliefs poll, is statistically similar to the record high of 71% recorded in 2022 and 2023. When Gallup first polled about same-sex marriage in 1996, 27% of Americans thought such unions should be legal, and 68% said they should not.

By 2004, 42% were in favor, and in 2011, support crossed the majority level for the first time. After registering slightly lower in two subsequent measures, public support for legal recognition of same-sex unions has remained above 50% consistently since late 2012. About one year after the U.S. Supreme Court’s Obergefell v. Hodges decision legalized same-sex marriage, public support increased to 61%, and it has remained above that level since.
