Police shoot and kill 14-year-old bystander at Los Angeles store

Because at the 31:30 or so mark, you see all the cams synced an you hear them discuss the fact he was armed with a ****ing bike lock.

Not one mention of a weapon. It says to me that they got more information en route and knew he wasnt shooting anything.

So:

1. He WAS clearly armed.
2. You still haven't explained how you KNOW he did not have a gun.

He was armed with a bike lock. The cops knew as much.....how do I know? Because they said as much right in the video.

That all said, even if I gave you your bogus point, it begs the question why it only took 35 seconds for them to get to shooting when they hadnt determined it absolutely necessary?

The 9/11 included information about a gun and possible shots fired.

They should be, but in the end they are going to probably be cleared because of the nature of the circumstances that got them called out there in the first place. At least that is my take on the matter. The bodycam footage is pretty damning though.

The real question is, who made the claim of shots fired originally?
The first 911 call, you could hear a loud noise that sounded like a shot, but the caller told the dispatcher he was 'breaking stuff.' PD says he broke a computer terminal and the glass side wall -- whatever he hit must have sounded like a shot to that customer. All the other 911 calls before and after the 'shots' call said he was using a bike lock, but the dispatcher put out the 'shots fired' call on the radio.

Correct.

Now, how did the KNOW there was no gun on the bad guy?

Well, per the conversation the explicitly had on camera, it was pretty obvious THEY knew what he was armed with.

Again, even if your question actually hits a point, its not like they went in and attempted to ascertain the situation in any meaningful way.

Are you excusing this shooting?

Was there any sign of a firearm when the officers got on scene? A shot fired? Anyone saying anything about a firearm? Anything?

I dont have to know he DIDNT have a gun...its kinda on the cops to determine that he actually DID have one. They very clearly didnt.

What's the timestamp for the shooting, please? I don't want to waste my time on the PR cop's bull:poop:.
It's not a lot of bull. It's the 911 calls and store video.

I hate to burst your bubble but the decision to pull the trigger was legit. It may well not fly in this "cops are guilty of everything" mentality but you've got cops responding to "shots fired", a victim that has obviously been injured and a suspect that dove behind the shelf unit. There was a valid reason for the cop to believe the suspect was going for a gun and, if he got it, would use it.

So did the dispatcher put that out there, because i heard nothing in the calls that anyone actually made that claim?

^ That might be funny if it wasn't such a load of :poop: about something that should infuriate every decent human being.

Lethal as in someone with head injuries lying on the floor?

Or potentially lethal as in the shots fired 9/11?
Lethal as in an immediate threat to another. What was identified?

The victim survived, so it obviously wasnt lethal.

Are you seriously claiming cops dont have a duty to determine whether or not there is actually an active shooter when they respond, and instead should be able to just go in shooting?
