Mocking is no substitute for intelligent debate.
It's becoming Biblical.Anyone who denies that this world has gone to hell in a handbasket is blind/in denial/brain dead...
If only gun owners must pay for “counseling” then only gun owners should receive it.
Not parents of unstable teens with guns?
Mental health is often indicated as a major gun safety concern. How should the nation handle the prospect of children with guns. NRA says start them off young. "My first gun," etc. Guns for kids. Not much about safety concerns. That seems reckless.
Perhaps if children are to have guns, parents should be required to pay for their own psyche tests and counseling.
Clearly, it is unwise for the nation to permit unstable people to have guns or children with guns.

The government is not a person. The government cannot 'have ideas.' Ours is supposed to be a representative government in which the people provide input and elected representatives debate the merits and enact law. We no longer have that. Our government is bought and the 'representatives' answer to the greedy rich who bought them. The NRA owns enough of government to prevent meaningful legislation to effectively address gun violence.

Why aren't the parents in jail for not locking up the guns as the law requies?
So better to wait until their kids goes on a rampage to arrest them. Makes sense. That’s up to local authorities, but I suspect a reluctance to incarcerate them for a non-violent offense.
