Racism. The law is almost identical the the one dreamed up by a Right Wing Think Tank.
Anything to own the libs.
It helps that Obama happened to be black. If Obama was white, Trump would still be riding escalators. It knee jerk partisan politics...Trump said so himself, he declared on any given issue, he asked what Obama did, and then did the opposite.
Didn't vote to uphold, voted that there was no standing for the plaintiffs. I think the important thing is the margin. The 3 ACA cases went from 5-4 to 6-3 to 7-2. Imo, we will not see another frontal attack on ACA, but like Roe, we will see an ongoing string of cases seeking to chip away at its provisions.Their voting to uphold the ACA gives you an idea of how absurd the law suit was to begin with.
BS!
I bet my bottom dollar you won't answer this:
Let's say for sake of argument, the last President had been a Democrat and he had appointed 3 Liberal judges and this case came before them and they voted EXACTLY the same way this Conservative court just voted.
You know what I would hear? "That is what you get for appointing Liberal judges" and there would be a cry and a bleating going on on the Right like you wouldn't believe.
BUT NOW, because IT IS a Conservative bench, you approve of their ruling (regardless of the reasons).
So time to fess us and be honest: IF this exact same ruling had been made by a Liberal court, you would have been screaming "LIBERAL JUSTICES, we need to get rid of them!"

Seeing how close Hillary came to winning, he would have won easily. And if Obama could stand for a third term.
Seeing how close Hillary came to winning, he would have won easily.
Yes, but we also would have been stuck with a third Reagan term. And, by then, he really was loopy.Yes, were it not for the 22nd Amendment, he'd be another FDR and still be president today.
I saw a graphic yesterday that read roughly as follows.
2012, in Assholes v Sebelius, the ACA survives by a narrow 5-4 vote
2015, King v Burwell, ACA survives with a 6-3 vote
2021, California v Texas, ACA survives 7-2.
Notice the trend, Notice too, this is the case even after the court shifted further Right.
AssholesThat word has to be a deliberate edit. Who really challenged Sebelius?
Assholes
Yes, were it not for the 22nd Amendment, he'd be another FDR and still be president today.
Rich and I were discussing Obama.Huh? Trump the Terrorist is not the president today because he lost his second attempt.
TrueFDR won a third term by being the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.
The jury is still out on Trump's appointed justices. Don't forget that Justice Stevens was appointed by President Ford, and Justices Ginsberg and Kennedy were President Reagan appointees. So far only Justices Thomas and Alito appear to be constitutional originalists. You can't say that about Chief Justice Roberts obviously, and it is still too soon to tell about Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh.Yes, it is refreshing to have a court that creates rulings based on the Constitution and the rule of law instead of political activism. We have Trump to thank for that.
Of course, if the left get their way, this will go away.
Except that they didn't vote to uphold the Affordable Healthcare Act. They held that Texas and the other 17 States no longer had standing because the penalty had been removed by Republicans after Texas had filed suit. The only thing that is absurd is your lack of understanding of the matter.Their voting to uphold the ACA gives you an idea of how absurd the law suit was to begin with.
Lol..RBG wasn’t a Reagan appointee. The jury is still out on Trump's appointed justices. Thank one of the gods. The justices are making the point that they are in no way the "trump court", but they make up their own minds.
And SCOTUS today is far left of what trump wanted.
.

Actually FDR won four terms (but died in his 4th) and he was the greatest ever US president by a mile.
With dementia? I doubt it.Better than Bush Sr.

The Affordable Healthcare Act of 2010 still violates the Tenth Amendment of the US Constitution.
Obviously before winning his fourth term, FDR won his third term. I never said he only won three times.
With dementia? I doubt it.
