There doesnt seem much comment on this. Is Pete for real or is this one of his after breakfast speeches ?
Nobody spends 5%. Not even Korea.
Where has he got that figure from ?
I wonder if Trump is nudging him down that path or if he thought it all up himself ~
 
Apparently he just wants a $1.46 trillion dollar budget for his own defense department.

What a Trump supporting politician says and what he actually does are surprisingly different.

The only way the Trump administration will inflate the budget that much is if he profited

"One size fits all" doesn't work for everyone. Not everyone can spend $800B a year on their military. Haggis and Trump don't seem to understand that.

Such is not even a requirement for NATO membership.

Gee, NATO’s never given the US anything other than the impression it’s utterly subservient to the US, so why would he think otherwise?

Trump called for NATO countries to increase their defense spending to 5% of their GDP back before he was inaugurated. Hegseth talking about it now isn't anything new.
