People who don't support Trump are liberal lefties

Oh its not so much Trump's policies that I disagree with. I probably agreed with more than disagreed. Where I have a problem with him is his persona, his character, his personality. Obnoxious, uncouth, unpresidential, offensive at time behavior.

All of that was alright and perhaps good as a reality TV show host, not not as a president. It's offensive and it grates on people or rubs them the wrong way like coarse sandpaper. I wonder what childish tirade or temper tantrum he will throw or pull each day. Who will Trump call names like a five year old kid whose parents failed to teach him any manners.

For the most part, I liked his policies, not all but quite a lot. It is the man himself I can't stand. What you need to understand is that I'll defend some of his policies, but never the man. Here's something I think still applies:

Trump Disapproval Rooted in Character Concerns

https://news.gallup.com/poll/214091...utm_content=morelink&utm_campaign=syndication

You give Trump the personality of a Reagan along with his policies and stances on the issues, I would wager his approval rating would be somewhere between 55-60% instead of near 40%. Or as a friend of mine said, "I could agree with Trump on 100% of his policies and his stances on the issues, but I would never vote for the man."

That really doesn't bother me. Seems uncouthness doesn't bother you, either. Trump has a lot to fight against. The establishment. The media. Never-Trumpers. Yet, he's still getting things done.

Side note: I wouldn't expect too much transparency from this president after the media burned him on his latest foray into transparency. Around every corner is another gotcha question from the meddling media.

Trump with his temper tantrums via twitter, acting like a schoolyard bully at times along his constant name calling remains me of a five year old whose parents failed to teach him any manners.

Superior day with my friends who don’t support #45 and are anything but liberal lefties, not that lib lefts aren’t Patriotic Americans. That’s what we call the Lee Atwater gop game of false-equivalence.

Witnessed a 21-gun salute and taps today, always a sober calling to our better Angels. Conservative Illinois is REAL conservatism, the kind you and I grew up with, the kind that blended with the best parts of all ideologues.

Administrations talk about transparency quite a lot, none of them come close to it. Trump in my opinion began the feuds with the media, with the never Trumpers, with a lot of different individuals. The media never cared for Reagan either, but he never started a feud with them and let a lot of the negative political stuff just roll off his back. He never started any needless feuds either. He realized he needed a unified Republican Party, especially since the GOP is the smaller of the two parties. Reagan also knew not to peeve off independents as he also needed their support.

He worked with the Democrats, especially Tip O'Neal in classic give and take battles. Trump has done none of that except work at getting people peeved at him. Reagan had worked up plenty of good will that when Iran-Contra hit he was able to weather the storm without too much problem. If something like that hits Trump, there is no good will to rely on. He got way too many people mad at him. Except his avid supporters that is.

Take this from an old Goldwater conservative, Trump isn't a conservative. He is nothing more than an egotistical opportunist.

In my conservative Illinois CD, they don’t want to say that great things that IOWA does are progress—ive. They’ve been trained to hate that word. As I mentioned before, Lee Atwater-izing; bastardizing; enough of that me.

Solar panels are smart in Iowa; I agree with aiming southeast; my house will get them next year. Solar panels in Iowa were the first to get hit with tariffs.

They have five cent deposit, which my people throw down. I told them: if you throw it down, and I have to clean it up, as always, it’s mine. That’s not anal; it’s 5 cents. I teach the grand nephews and nieces this, and reward them.

Can’t wait to get water slides for the yards and use spray nozzles to cool down. Can’t wait to blow-torch. Climbing ladders with a heavy chain saw is work, not play. Veteran Funeral of my closest friends; I love the full Mass; it was inspiring; celebratory; catchup on years; now new plans with several of them in other states. Life is still good.

There's nothing like farm work. It seems to me that it refreshes the soul. My dad had a military funeral, WWII vet. I guess I'll follow him in that line. My Grandpa did also, WWI vet. I did some cutting of trees last week and burned a bunch of brush. The one good thing about living in the country, one is tied to all these stupid city laws and regulations.

It's nice to have you be your old self. Take care old buddy, wife is headed to get the baseball bat. Till tomorrow.

I’ll root for your Braves. Dad loved them from the old Boston Brave days. Then Milwaukee. Brother born in Richmond; folks followed their AAA back in the day; I got citizen in DC early on from base in England; MLB starts the 2nd half tomorrow.

First of all, I didn't vote for Trump.

Second of all, I never said you thought I was a Nazi.
This is funny of course , every week less and less hate party member say they voted for Scum Bag. It's down to the fact that he got elected with 10 votes, isn't that amazing.

Really?

Rick Perry: "Trump is a cancer on conservatism."
Lindsey Graham: "My party has gone bat**** crazy."
Mitt Romney: "Trump is a fraud and conman."
George Bush: "nationalism distorted into nativism."
John Kasich: "Sit on your hands and keep your mouth shut."
Condoleezza Rice: "Enough! Donald Trump should not be President. He should withdraw.
As a Republican, I hope to support someone who has the dignity and stature to run for the highest office in the greatest democracy on earth."

What a bunch of liberals, all speaking out against Donald Trump. Of course, some of them changed their minds when they saw which side of the bread their butter was on.

straw man thread. Trump attacked the establishment GOP almost as hard as the CLintonistas

We are getting back to the problem that I outlined to begin with. We cannot depend on pointing fingers at any one. We need to depend on ourselves and our ability to distinguish right from wrong and I am NOT talking about Party platforms but about human nature. Evidently, we have the ability to see who is a wolf and who is a lamb and therefore we need to be able to protect the lamb from the wolf and not just point out to the expectator's who is the wolf and who is the lamb. Simply stated, we now clearly know that Trump is a wolf and we need to physically protect the lamb (the American public).
Correct , no one can stand on the sidelines if they want their country to keep it's values and conscience. they have to come out against Scum Bag and the people who elected him. They are simply the enemy. nothing more.

Everyone will accept and believe everything negative about Scum Bag because he is capable of everything they say about him. Him and his supporters are this countries biggest threat and people realize that and are responding to that when the comment against him.

when are you going to start your rebellion against Trump? you keep talking about it.

Are you kidding me?

William F Buckley was a civil libertarian. A true civil libertarian would be for the legalization of all or most drugs. WFB was for it.

Prez Jerry Ford was pro ERA, he was a civil lib.

Pat wasn't even for the legalization of marijuana, so there is no way in hell you can call him a civil libertarian.

Look at his views on immigration, blacks, civil rights --- he's a right wing extremist, NOT a civil libertarian.

Pat was AGAINST THE EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT

Someone should explain to Pat is that nature has homosexual animals. There have been documented cases of pairs of male doves mating for life.
Apparently animals are declaring war on nature, as well.

Pat Buchanan on Drugs

Pat was/is a Social conservative extremist (aka Christian Fascist) he's on the opposite side of the right from us libertarians.

Everyone down here is happy with the Braves showing so far. Competing for the division was not foreseen or predicted. Before the Braves moved from Milwaukee down here we had their AA farm club, the Southern League Atlanta Crackers. Good memories of both.

I was only around 7 when the Braves moved from Boston to Milwaukee followed by the A's to KC and the Browns to Baltimore. None of those moves really made any big headline splashes that I remember. It was the move of the Dodgers and Giants from New York to California that did. After that, it became a free for all as to movements of teams from once city to another.

I never was a big fan of expansion. Going from 8 to 10 teams in each league was fine, as it was still each league winner meeting in the world series immediately after the regular season ended. that all changed in 1969 with the advent of divisional play. No longer would season long excellence be rewarded. I remember baseball promising that there would be no playoffs than just the one divisional series.

I got used to that, at least one had to win your division to get into the playoffs, no wildcards. Nowadays, I hate the three division lineup along with the wildcard play in game. Of course, I'm old fashioned. I don't think any 2nd place team ought to be allowed in the playoffs. either win your division or go home. that's why you play 162 games instead of 16.

and yet, most of them have come crawling back to him.

but not before they expressed their true opinions of the conman and fraud.

the point still stands-the butt hurt establishment Republicans and their horned friends are mad that they aren't in the same positions of power they would have been if say Jeb Bush had won

but they are. They just had to come crawling back to the person they despised before he was given power. Like most politicians, power is what they desire above all else.

your point being what? we get the fact you don't like Trump.

Really? What gave that away?

Do you get that it's not a Trump vs. "the left" issue?

Haven't you read what I posted? I clearly said some establishment Republicans despise Trump as much as you lefties do. its a power issue

Exactly what I said. Now that Trump has it, they come crawling back to him. "Please, Mr. Conman and fraud, won't you give me a high powered plumb of a position in your new government, pretty please?"

Exactly. It's not about "the left" vs. some nonexistent "conservatives" who are extinct in Washington. It's all about power, pure and simple. We, the people, or at least about 25% of us, gave that power to Donald J. Trump. Since he ran as a Republican, even though he really isn't, the Republicans want a piece of that power while the Democrats want to take it back for themselves.
