This is significant. Pence Will testify. He is central to showing trump's intentions and state of mind. This may complete the case with the most difficult aspect or prove on court. I expect nothing less than his truthfulness.

" he will be required to answer questions about any potential illegal acts by Trump."

"Pence’s testimony would mark a significant and historic development in the probe, which would see a former vice president testify about the potential criminality of his ticket-mate’s actions."

"It’s also the latest significant blow to Trump in the federal probes. An appeals court on Tuesday upheld an earlier ruling ordering former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows and other top White House aides to testify as part of the Jan. 6 investigation."

He will not appeal the prior court finding, but trump may still attempt to block it.

Edit - possibly a move by Pence since the trump appeal failed. He is no longer able to claim he was forced to testify, not really, since he doesn't want to offend trump supporters. But of course, it's too late.

He made his token opposition to having to testify public for the MAGA base, now he "simply has no choice".

Also, Mother said it was OK, as long as the deposition isn't conducted by an unmarried woman.

I can't wait to see him plead the 5th for six hours!!

I posted this in another thread. I found this really curious. Is it because he attorneys said "not a snowball's chance..." and it will cost you money OR is it (which is what I believe) that he now sees the path of trying to help Trump as a way to appeal to Trump voters, isn't going to work. Now, perhaps, he sees Trump as vulnerable so maybe he can give him a little push into the fire of hell to get him out of the race, effectively , and give him (the illusion of) a path to the White House. I think Pence is feeling a little opportunistic here.

Either way, Pence's testimony will move the J6 case(s) forward.

The 5th exists to allow you to protect yourself from self-incriminating yourself. It does not exist as a means to just not answer questions.

My guess is the latter, he dreams of getting trump out of the way for his own ambition. Alas, it is but a dream.

He wrote a book, did interviews, and now comes the time to say it in a legal setting. He reminds me of Bolton, who wrote a book about the administration but refused to testify to the J6 committee.
