I had one, cheap 22$ a month, covered everything I needed. It was cancelled under the ACA and never listed on the exchanges. The cheapest plans they had were 120$ a month and didn't cover anything I needed. Thankfully, most of my illnesses are basic and could use home remedies to forego payments, until they became mandatory.

It's easy to say you want to get rid of the ACA when you hold a "slight" majority in the house and senate knowing the Dem president will veto. What they didn't expect was Trump to be there because they don't really WANT to get rid of the ACA and neither do people. People now complain about the ACA like they do taxes. It's necessary and getting rid of it is going to make things worse and people have awaken to that fact which is why there was serious pushback to repealing it outright. Even the bills the Republicans came up with are worse.

As for "draining the swamp", the only thing Trump has done is dump sewage in the swamp instead of draining it.

Where have you been for the last six months watching your "outsider" Trump do everything that the so-called establishment GOP wants. They want the ACA repealed, Trump wants the ACA repealed; they want tax-cuts, Trump wants tax-cuts; they want safety and environmental regulations slashed, Trump wants safety and environmental regulations slashed, etc. All of that and the slew of bankers and Wall St. hacks on his cabinet and one might think that Trump voters, like you, got had -- big time.

But a fundamental question to ask regarding the GOP plans on health care is, what specifically about their plans were better than what we already got with the ACA? Everything about the plans were worse for people -- millions get thrown off, it's more expensive, higher deductibles, may cover or not cover preexisting conditions, etc. There are Congressional districts in this country that went overwhelmingly for Trump that also have hospitals in which 80% of the patients get Medicare or Medicaid, that would be trashed under GOP plans. Why does the GOP insist on eating their own?

Well they passed something, didn't they. And there was like...you know...debate about it. It wasn't being done behind closed doors and all sorts of other shady things. Plus it was a constructive bill, they were trying to put something in place. This one is essentially a repeal bill, tearing it down. It's easier to destroy than create. But they cannot get any cohesion and part of that is because Trump is terrible at his job.

I don't think Obamacare is a good thing, and it certainly did nothing to address the fundamentals about our bloated healthcare system. But Obama and the Dems did, with debate, get a major healthcare bill passed with an advantage similar to what the Republicans have now. If they want to repeal Obamacare, they've got to do it now, come the elections the GOP may find that it has lost some of that advantage.
