Pelosi threatens to delay Senate impeachment trial

The problem began before Trump was even inaugurated, as far back as April, 2016. They were desperate then to have him impeached if he became President, and announced it frequently, and even announced that Americans should attack their fellow citizens in shopping malls, restaurants, etc. |This continued until their leaders called it off as being unproductive. Their sham one sided Mueller Investigation followed, with the inevitable result, and this was their last chance.

There was no crime, everyone can see that, but the motives and drive behind this process against an elected President began somewhere and that's what's being investigated now. If there is a trial in the Senate then much of the truth will come out, but there will likely be separate trials in the courts. If you liked the Kavanaugh hearings you'll love the next go around.

I get what you are saying, but I do have some points to make, don't take them as being argumentative, please

You are bundling the entire left together in your first paragraph and no group (very much including repubs) of any size where entry is simply claiming you support them can come out well by that measure

They actually could have made this investigation better and I personally believe found some grounds for their case, but sham is really the only word for what really happened and they did not successfully make their case or at least all dems would have voted for it, much less any bipartisan support at all

I'm well aware they were hunting for something to impeach on and that they generally hate Trump, but he purposely shuns normal procedure and throws himself in everyone's face; also he doesn't carefully read all the rules once he decides on his plan of action - He was going to give them grounds for investigation at least

I have never once stated I think he is innocent and there is a reason for that, I think he's guilty of multiple offenses and don't defend him at all - Most of your arguments to me have made the assumption that is what I was doing

My problem is with the crap show we got instead of a real investigation (one of the primary excuses being how long it would take) - If Trump would lose the witnesses and they are already losing on McGahn, why were we in such a rush to vote before the investigation was done? If the rush was so bad, why are we just waiting around now?

This didn't need to be a partisan joke of an investigation and it didn't need to be this rushed, but since it was, it's time to let the other fools do their own circus so we can move on

Not like Trump won't give another reason to be investigated very very soon
Many open minded and fair people have long ago arrived at your conclusions, and those numbers will continue to grow. You're trying to be fair and being criticized for it. That's why many people like yourself have pressed the 'Ignore button' on CNN, MSNBC, most of the MSM and posters calling their homes for political opinions.

They can be annoyed with his approach, as are many of his most ardent supporters, but none of that comes close to impeachment. The results of the Mueller investigation put them into shock and they never really recovered. This phone call to Ukraine was their last opportunity and they took it, despite there being no crimes and no victims.

I'm honestly unsure if I believe there was a complete lack of crimes/victims on the Ukraine call and I certainly could name a few things I think would be worthy of congress investigation he has done, but these are opinions and I admit that

I can't find anywhere that congress did a full and fair investigation and managed to make their case, however; And we are talking about impeachment of the most powerful person in the world - It can't be such a gray area

By the way, I respect that you can disagree with me and keep it to a good discussion, thanks for that

I like to consider myself willing to see my faults and I admit, the temptation to mock your posts should not have won me over - I should have long ago admitted that the laughter I was enjoying was self-serving and not appropriate

When my points were not being addressed, I should have bid you a good day long ago and risen above that immature response

I do so now, good day to you and I really, honestly wish you a merry Christmas!

Fair enough.

Merry Christmas

Maria B. had a very interesting program this morning, particularly with Lindsay Graham and Ted Cruz. I encourage you to watch it because you'll get strong indication of what's to come. In fact you may want to watch the whole thing and, being a fair-minded person yourself, it will undoubtedly broaden your perspective. Please post your review. YouTube

Point noted. Pelosi doesn't need an end-game. She's just trying to drag this out as long as humanly possible. But I still don't see why McConnell would ever acquiesce to her terms. If she wants to sit on this until the election, let her. Trump and the GOP will declare victory and move on.

She doesn’t need an end game.

As long as the threat of an impeachment trial hangs over Donald Trump, he can’t declare victory.

And McConnell and the GOP can’t either. McConnell tried that already, and Nancy Pelosi hung it around his neck. He won’t do that again. Although he will make an act out of pretending he doesn’t want the case.

Nancy Pelosi has a built in advantage that Mitch McConnell and the Republicans don’t have.

It’s name is Donald Trump.

The GOP can’t trust Trump. McConnell knows better than to trust Trump.

They all know he’s guilty. There isn’t any question about that.

And if McConnell leads an acquittal of Trump (as he probably will) he will be surrendering a significant amount of the power of his own Senate and his own office to the President.

This President.

And Trump can’t stand the idea of not putting on a show in the Senate. He’ll be leaning on McConnell full time, if he isn’t already. (Watch the psycophants on this one. When you start seeing guys like Nunes, Kennedy, and Jordan going on Trump TV to call for a trial, you’ll know who’s pulling the strings).

And he won’t declare victory. He’ll declare himself king. And he will start acting like one. There isn’t any doubt about that, either.

Will do, but bear with me! Been a long week and still need to get stuff to feed my kids and such and it's not a short vid, but I love getting the info and reviewing it

Talk soon and thanks!

It's not hanging over Donald Trump, he wants a trial. The threat is to the lying Democrats.

Guilty of what? There were no crimes and no victims.

2 crimes actually. And the victims are the American people

Again, what crimes? There were no crimes and no victims. The American people are in fact doing very well under the Trump Administration, apart from the Democrats.

2 crimes. Awful crimes.

Just awful

I’m not going to play your silly game.

We both know what we’re talking about.

I expect that's something people like Adam Schiff will say when they're being questioned under oath before the Senate. I can understand your embarrassment and reluctance to give an honest answer.

McConnell has allowed witnesses????

That's great news!!!!

Not quite how that works. The Senate can't set rules for the House

Oh, but you think it's okay for Pelosi to make demands of the Senate? The Senate isn't making rules for the House, they would be making their own rules and decisions. The House is done. But, Pelosi is now trying to play games and influence the Senate's role in this. The Constitution makes clear the House's role and the Senate's role. She has no Constitutional authority to try and participate in the Senate's role.

Then no trial

Fine with me
