That's more rediculous than blaming Bush. The Dems have been ramrodding Congress since 2007. They should have done something.
However, the political timing couldn't have been more perfect.
Evidence supporting the accusation?
Actually we don't know...
Contrary to the left's knee-jerk reaction of rushing in to blame everything on too little government, the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico was not caused by deregulation.
As explained by the Wall Street Journal one week after the explosion, the device liberals are hyperventilating over--called an acoustic regulator--is not required for drilling under U.S. law because it would not necessarily have prevented any of this.
Total system failures like the one that caused this spill almost never happen (which is why Democrats wanting to shut down all drilling is the equivalent of wanting to ban all aviation due to 9/11), and acoustic regulators are completely unproven. - Deregulation did not cause the Gulf oil spill
Another interesting tid bit...
On Friday, the Washington Examiner requested that Speaker Pelosi’s office release the list of Bush appointees to whom she was referring. We’ll let you know when we hear back.
I wonder if she will respond?
You are right.... crazy conspiracy theory. Please take your place in line with the birthers and those that think the government was behind 9/11.
(another, more platible theory, is that its an act of God telling us to wake up)
Who knows and who can say, Maybe this is the divine intervention, telling us to wake up and a way of showing the unbelievers what can happen when we throw all caution to the wind and " DRILL BABY DRILL " .
Maybe we can begin the process to cleaner energy and " CHILL BABY CHILL " .
Unfortunately our need for hydrocarbons into the future maintains strong demand. There is no viable replacement for it in the transportation sector. We can't convert every vehicle to electric or hydrogen and we don't have the power plant based energy to recharge those power carriers on a wide scale.
The promising alternative is CNG, but that requires some drilling as well.
There are some things we could do. Improve and encourage the use of our railways, for one. The only reason why I don't take a train places is because I live in the rural South where they haven't built any. But I would if it were made available.
Actually we don't know... but we do know Junior Bush and Poppy Bush are both Oil men from " Black Gold Texas " and has made and are still making Millions in their investments in the Oil business .....
Need I say more, they are under suspicion until proven otherwise ... and otherwise also meaning guilty until proven innocent....
That stands on its own merit, whether Pelosi respond yes or no with the list of all the guilty men that was in the Bush
" Oil Administration".... Let's not bury our heads in the dirty oil spill sand on this one People Pleeease !!!
True, and economics will see more people taking them as hydrocarbons rise in price. It's the free market. I don't expect a great expansion to existing rail lines, however.
I think the free market would be more likely to push public buses than railways. However, those still use oil products. That's why I wouldn't mind the government expanding Amtrak, or the state governments coordinating with the federal government to create public railway services for travel over long distances.
You do know it was because of his deregulation, and the fact the people in charge were taken kick backs during his watch right?
Most of those in Congress accept kickbacks, even Obama has accepted kickbacks from oil company's and very likely others as well.
It is an endemic culture within administrations of either ilk.
It is basically what is wrong with the so called Democratic system practiced in American Politics.
There's quite a diff between kickbacks and campaign contributions.
Campaign contributions are legal and ethical.
Kickbacks are illegal as well as unethical.
