Just as many of us expected, that there would be double standars for men and women serving in combat arms or they will dumb down the physical standards for all. It looks like they will dumb down all of combat arms in the name of political correctness.

How long will Obama's and the liberals social engineering experimentation be allowed to go ? Billions being spent to accommodate women on warships who can't perform the basic damage control procedures on ships. Entire units being pulled from the field or the air during combat training exercises to attend required sensitivity training. Academic standars being lowered for officer candidates in the name of diversity.

>"Public statements from the Pentagon since it removed the ban on direct ground combat jobs for women signal that the armed services plan to change their physical standards to ensure integration of the sexes, analysts say.

A review of news conferences and congressional testimony shows that the top brass repeatedly use the word “validate” — not necessarily “retain” — when talking about ongoing studies of tasks to qualify for infantry, armored and special operations jobs.

In other words, some physical standards would be lowered for men and women on the argument that certain tasks are outdated or irrelevant..."<

Every time the U.S. military is used for social engineering, soldiers, Marines, sailors and airmen bleed and die.

Re: PC strikes again in the military, physical standards to be lowered for all grunts

I figured this was the way they would go. Now they can claim women are equal and can meet the standards when the fact is they're meeting standards that were lowered so they could meet them. Of course, no one will be aware of that little fact when they brag about it later and they will be sure to not inform anyone of it either.

Re: PC strikes again in the military, physical standards to be lowered for all grunts

I love how they fight for equality and they damn well know it means pushing everything to the lowest common denominator. After all, if everyone can't get in then it's just not fair. Yeah, thanks for your equality bull****, feminists, democrats, progressives and whoever else is retarded enough to believe it.

>“Despite denials today, the Marines will retain a number of less-qualified men just to please Congress by assigning a few women to direct ground combat units,” Ms. Donnelly said. “They will also drop tough training standards deemed to be ‘unfair’ to women. The practice will employ ‘equal’ standards that are lower than they are now...”<

Looks like they are reassessing the physical requirements for different roles to assure they are realistic. It appears that while some are concerned about the standards being lowered merely for the purposes of accommodating women at this point there is no indication that is where things are headed.

Lawmakers were also concerned about claims that physical standards were being lowered in order to allow women into military occupation specialties, known as MOSs.

Bromberg said that after the validation process, there will be scientific data to back the raising or lowering of a standard.

"We'll just have to lay the facts out," he said. "The standard is a standard."

Realistic to whom? Women perhaps? Yup. If women were qualified there would be no need to lower any standard at this point.

No, I don't think that's what it is saying. Say for instance you had the requirement to lift 100lbs on a job and you want to hire someone who can only lift 75lbs. If you do a review of tasks for that job and discover that you never actually have to lift 100lbs, that in fact you never have to lift more than 50lbs then you can adjust the requirements for lifting in the job description. They say that they will review scientific data to determine whether or not adjustments can be made. So it seems like an objective process.

Oh come now, this is just an empty excuse by the government. They know that men are stronger, quicker, and have more endurance and the standards that exist now women can not possibly meet and so they are lowering them. I have been alive long enough to know that when something stinks it's usually for a reason and this stinks to high heaven of changing the standards of the job so that women are fit for it. It's has already been shown countless times before this nonsense of fairness and empty headed drivel that women can't handle the riggers of the job in the field, so I assure you there is nothing scientific going on here. The only thing they are doing is making the job easier and that is it. Buy the lies if you want, but I'm smart enough to know better.

I understand the concerns. I would not want them lowered simply to accommodate the inclusion of woman either. It just doesn't look like what's happening here. BTW, what do you have support your claim "It's has already been shown countless times before this nonsense of fairness and empty headed drivel that women can't handle the riggers of the job in the field"

Re: PC strikes again in the military, physical standards to be lowered for all grunts

Why are women not required to register for selective service?

For example, there was reporter a few years back that took two years working out to get in shape. When it finally came time to get into the field she knew within moments she couldn't lift the weight and went down to what I remember was fifty pounds, but within little time she was down to about twenty- five pounds and still struggling to hall it. Where did all the other weight go? To the other men of course. There is countless other examples just like this one.

This is hearsay. Do have sources you can site for real data? (serious question not just being an ass) I personally would not be capable and I am very fit (but small) but I have known many woman who could pull it off just fine.

Every last time a woman has been allowed in the field she has always failed due to the riggers of the job. I gave you an example of a reporter because she was a supporter of women being in every position in the military before she went and tried it herself. If you can find me an example of a woman that attempted it and succeeded I will drop my case, but you won't.

Why are you being so abrasive? I'm just asking you questions, isn't that what we are here for.

Most of us are here to rant, period.

From your link, from Lt. Gen Bromberh known to be a "yes man" who just want to be able to puch the time clock and retire.

"We'll just have to lay the facts out," he said. "The standard is a standard.""<

So the standards that were considered to be standard for over sixty years are now considered to be to high ?
Will be interesting which standards they decide are too high.

Is there anyone out there who have served who can point out which physical standards were to high when they served ?

>""The Army of the future will require more mental agility, team work and resilience from all Soldiers," Bromberg said."<

The Army already has sever problems with sexual assaults because of social engineering being forced upon them. Will we see the same problems in combat arms and the collapse of unit cohesion we already see in non combat arms in the name of political correctness ? If the REMF's are already experiencing it, so will the grunts.

While looking at Lt. Gen. Bomberg I believe he's a pough (pog) I don't see the ICB. I doubt he's a killer and that's what you must have in combat arms to prevail on the battlefield.

As another former artillery officer who served in combat arms said, "Smart people, male and female, don’t necessarily make good killers. Bottom line, we need people willing to kill in very tough places, and men have many natural advantages."

And it appears that many of you just want something to be pissed off about, whether it's worthy of it or not.

You mean kind of like how feminists wanted to be in the positions that they knew women couldn't be in and didn't care. Whenever challenged on their nonsense they would just call everyone a sexist even if they were 100% right in their argument. Every last one of us so called sexists saw the lowering of the standards coming when the feminists won their fight. I think I have a good reason to be mad since I was right and insulted for it.

Yeah, I love being called a pig while everything I'm saying is right on the mark. There is really nothing as enjoyable as that.

Some of us actually have served in combat and have watched our fellow brothers in arms bleed and die on the battlefield because of liberal social engineering.

Your emotions are getting in the way of your objectivity. I am not attacking anyone. I would not want a woman in combat if she could not meet standards for physical strength that would keep her and everyone she is with safe. I was merely pointing out that his fears may not be warranted when it comes to these standards being lowered to unsafe levels merely to accommodate women. It was not what I got from the article. You can be afraid of it happening if you want but seems like a waste of time and energy at this point.

Don't need to read and try to comprehend what the article says, the word is the physical standards will be lowered for both male and females. This was predicted many months ago by those already serving in the Army and Marine Corps. Any Marine or soldiers who complains will be relieved of his command. That's what been going on in the military for the past 4 1/2 years.

Welcome to Obama's PC military.

There's an old phrase used by Marines, "The Old Corps." Any Marine who served during the era of the China Marines, approximately from 1900 to Dec. 7th, 1941.
I thought I would never be able to claim that I served in the Old Corps. Back in 2001 some of us were having a discussion did my father who served in the Pacific during WW ll as a Marines served in the Old Corps ? No.
So that means I didn't serve in the Old Corps when I tried to fill fathers boots in Vietnam 69-70.

A few weeks ago the same discussion came up who can claim to have served in the Old Corps ? Today anyone who served in the Marine Corps before January of 2009 can now claim they served in the Old Corps. But some said anyone who served before repealing DADT. ;- )
