Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman was working with a former Russian spy during the US presidential race over debts he owed to a Kremlin-linked oligarch, it has been claimed.

Paul Manafort led Mr Trump’s campaign for president for three months in 2016 before he was forced to resign after his links to Russian interests in Ukraine were made public.

A former member of the GRU, Russia’s most feared and secretive spy service, has said he was in contact with Manafort during that time over millions of dollars the political adviser allegedly owed to billionaire businessman Oleg Deripaska.

Your campaign manager working for a Russian spy at the same time comes as close to collusion as you can get.

How does it implicate Trump though?

Lay it out...let's hear what you got.

Lol you dont even have proof that Manafort was working with a russian spy let alone that Trump was aware of it. If that as close to collusion as you can get your a long way away from it.

What you have is a claim that he was. I could claim things too. That does not mean they are true. Obama claimed that he did not know hilliary was using a private server until he learned about it in the media yet we know that wasnt true. It didnt stop him from claiming it.

Another exercise is useless speculation, spin, innuendo and hyperbole.

1. Are we REALLY going to take the word of a Russian? A "former" Russian spy?

2. What kind of "deals" were discussed?

3. Mueller has already looked into this and was, in effect, told to go take a hike. (according to that Russian)

4. If Mueller, or anyone else, had anything useful about this, he wouldn't have bothered making Manafort's life a living hell over tax violations.

But hey...all you Trump haters...enjoy this nothingburger. You know the media will keep you well-fed.

According to this report, Manafort owed Deripaska something like $16M. He went to work for Trump & as part of the deal with Deripaska to work off his debt he provided periodic briefings on the status of the campaign. He might as well have been giving these updates directly to Putin, who seems to have had a vested interest in Trump's election.

Paul Manafort pressured by Russians to pay back debt while Trump's campaign chair, Time magazine says

Washington (CNN) Paul Manafort was pressured by a former Russian associate to pay back millions he owed during the time he was running Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, according to a new report from Time magazine.

Former Russian intelligence officer Victor Boyarkin was in touch with Manafort during the 2016 US presidential campaign on behalf of Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska, who has close ties to the Kremlin, the magazine reported Saturday.

Trump is not mentioned because he has a knack of being out of the room when s**t comes down.

Trouble, this is exactly the problem with getting your information from the same liars who told you President Obama was born in Kenya. They’re simply not going to be forthright and honest. Here’s the footnote from IG report that the “Obama lied” narrative is from.

FBI analysts and Prosecutor 2 told us that former President Barack Obama was one of the 13 individuals with whom Clinton had direct contact using her clintonemail.com account. Obama, like other high level government officials, used a pseudonym for his username on his official government email account. The analysts told us that they questioned whether Obama’s email address (combined with salutations that revealed that the emails were being exchanged with Obama) or other information contained in the emails were classified and, thus, sent the emails to relevant USIC agencies for classification review. However, they stated that the USIC agencies determined that none of the emails contained classified information.

That being proof President Obama lied is pretty funny from the people who claim Bush didn’t lie about WMDs. It’s not unreasonable that President Obama simply didn’t notice the address in however many emails he got from Hillary. And nobody noticed Hillary's email server until the Benghazi witchhunts (after the 4th or 5th investigation it officially became a witchhunt). It is totally unreasonable to believe that Bush missed the intel that showed that Iraq had no WMDs. So when you post “he should have noticed the address” be sure to say “Bush should have noticed the intel”.

And just for laughs, you should read the IG report. The pearl clutching about President Obama saying he didn’t believe Hillary did anything wrong on 60 minutes is quite hilarious. They were so concerned it might “influence” the investigation. Compare that to the outright attacks on the DOJ and FBI from your dear leader. That is now two flip flops from conservatives on this issue.

Can we please stop using the word "collusion." That's their word, one they use to dishonestly suggest that the investigation is only about "collusion" and therefore should not go on because "collusion is not a crime."

Please stop feeding their bull****
