Pathetic 22k jobs created. Revisions to prior month shows net job losses. Unemployment ticks up

We’re starting to enter a period of AI takeover. Companies are getting rid of their entry level employees and replacing them with AI tools. There needs to be discussion of what job numbers mean, if anything, as a broader economic indicator in that context.

Had Trump's Papa not giving him a fortune we would have never heard of this guy.

And that fake TV show fooled a bunch of dumbasses.

Yes. In fact, the CEO of Salesforce said just the other day that he cut 4,000 jobs and replaced them all with AI. Companies are becoming more comfortable with AI and responding accordingly.

Regardless of the reason(s), when the number of new jobs falls below the number of new job seekers coming into the workforce,
the economy is not serving the needs of the people.

Regards, stay safe 'n well ... informed. Jim.

Job cuts and job openings are two different things, you know.

The single biggest reason for companies not hiring is the economic uncertainty caused by Trump. AI may play in some sectors but ALL sectors except health care have stalled. Companies need reasonable ecomonic clarity before they expand.

The idea that expansion necessarily involves human workers is problematic as we enter the era of AI. Not only do companies no longer need their current entry level employees; they don’t need to create new entry level positions either. What represents economic contraction or growth is no longer a simple matter of reading the tea leaves that are job numbers.

I understand that which is why Trumps claim of bring back thousands of jobs is bogus. Nonetheless companies will not invest in expansion when there is such uncertainty about the economic environment. Plans to invest isn't investing. Capital investment , including foreign investment is down.

There's no excuse you won't use to protect your favorite politician.

BRUTAL JOBS REPORT...

  • Just 22,000 jobs added in August.
  • Unemployment rises to 4.3%.
  • Broader jobless rate jumps to 8.1%.
  • Slowest 4-month growth since 2020.
  • Plus, downward revisions for June and July of -21,000.

Destroy a great economy for a rate cut. Thanks fellow stable geniuses for voting for this.

Which is what I would expect to see. The cost of growth is significantly less when you no longer have to factor in worker pay, amenities, real estate, liabilities and benefits as overhead. It doesn’t require as much investment to expand.

This is what happens when you have an egotistical moron who thinks he knows everything, yet listens to no one, particularly experts, yet claims to be "smarter than the experts," a "stable genius," wielding complete control over the economy.
He doesn't read so all of his knowledge comes from TV.

Has Trump not factored that in? Is Trump already blaming AI for today's jobs numbers? I don't remember Trump saying how bad AI will be for job loses. Does he have a plan for this?

IT"S NOT TRUMP'S FAULT. IT"S AI'S FAULT !!!!!!!

Why do you need Trump to tell you any of that? Nobody can stop the AI revolution. Marx predicted this in the 19th century.

This is just cope for terrible leadership.

Then why does Trump say we're hot as a pistol and the numbers are lies?

Does he not know, or is he lying?

So where do we find jobs for all of those entry level workers?
