I thought Delaware was the go-to American venue for hiding money? Or is that just a corporate thing? This story broke over the weekend and has a few tangential threads here already. The SouthDakita angle is a new slant. Alaska seem to be trying to get in the tax haven racket as well. The US has long wagged it’s finger at Switzerland and places like Cyprus and the Cayman Islands. Can’t beat them, Join them?
‘Pandora Papers’ peg South Dakota as major tax haven, rivaling Switzerland
South Dakota has been outed as “a major destination for foreign money” on par with more notorious tax havens in Europe and the Caribbean, according to the Pandora Papers.nypost.com
It's a corporate governance thing, not a laundering money thing.I thought Delaware was the go-to American venue for hiding money? Or is that just a corporate thing?
Why do you hate Americans? It's rather interesting that the former head of the IMF is implicated in some of these schemes but not one American has been identified. That seems a bit strange as several Americans have interests in some of the firms mentioned.
Ah.It's a corporate governance thing, not a laundering money thing.

It's not hard to "look." We have the internet.,South Dakota is the last place i'd expect to be declared a "tax haven". But then, that's probably what some were HOPING...for it to be the absolute last place anyone would look.

Uh…..other than the entire states of Delaware and South Dakota…….no American were involved……
i honestly didn't think this thread about South Dakota would become about Hillary. The media won't report on the Bidens or Clintons.

How does that compare with Arkansas?Well, when you look at the voting record in South Dakota, it becomes instantly obvious why the Clintons would choose it for their nefarious activities.
Right?
How does that compare with Arkansas?
Ah. So almost identical to SD. Seems that the Clintons would be quite comfortable with such a state.

They began their political careers in Arkansas and were quite successful. .. I'm sure they would be fine. The Clinton's would be "quite comfortable" with a state that is almost 70% "Republican" (whatever that means)?
