Palin worse than feared by the left

Yes, but they admitted that it was an anonymous staffer. I don't think that they were making this stuff up. I can understand why the staffer would wish to remain anonymous.

Uh, recall that the NY Times had to retract the McCain-lobbyist affair story. That story rested on "anonymous" staffers that the NYT assured us were close to McCain. Oooops! :3oops:

I can't believe you have no skepticism here. That you swallow whole the media's assurance that these anonymous sources a) exist; and b) were in a position to know what they are claiming to know.

Stephen Glass. Jayson Blair. The New Republic's whole series of false stories about atrocities being committed by our troops in Iraq? The whole host of other mainstream publication journalists that have simply fabricated sources and facts?

And you exercise zero skepticism...

Particularly after the media's shameful behavior during this campaign?

Frankly, I am surprised that anyone who has heard Obama speak (not during a prepared speech but interviews, debates, and what not) would not think he is a very, very intelligent person. This isn't about being inspirational or politically savvy--this is about just pure intellect.

Well, here's your surprise.

I don't consider campaigning on a promise of immediate Iraq troop withdrawal while simultaneously engaged in very nearly illegal negotiation with Iraqi government officials to stymie its negotiations with Bush about the drawdown of US troops to be a reflection of intellect.

I don't consider campaigning on unilaterally reopening NAFTA while sending a campaign official in the backdoor to assure the Canadians that it's all just political rhetoric to be a reflection of intellect.

I don't consider campaigning on a theme blasting Bush (and by extension McCain) for cowboy unilateralism while then arguing that we should act unilaterally to not only conduct airstrikes in Pakistan but also possibly send in ground troops to be a reflection of intellect.

I would be surprised greatly if you consider such examples of Obama as representative of intellect.

I happen to consider it blatant lying and hypocrisy if not irresponsible political campaigning.

I am interested to see how he runs this country. I hope he reaches across the aisle. I believe that was a huge part of Clinton's success.

Which Clinton? If Bill, examples, please.

Your beef with the Palin thing is the fact that the source is anonymous as to the Africa thing? Yeah, that seems like a cheap shot. Unfortunately, cheap shots "sell." People love that kind of stuff. So people report it.

Yeah, no wonder the public's perception of the media keeps diminishing year-after-year. Yet, we see Democrats continue to assure us that the media is not biased, that media bias, if it even exists, cuts both ways,.

The problem with such irresponsible journalism (other than the fact that it always seems to cut in the favor of the Democrats) is that people often believe what is reported.

My hunch is that the main source of the leaks is Nicole Wallace.

I guess I just dropped a bomb and killed all the absurd lefty arguments, eh?

Boom goes the dynamite!

Well, it's official... since Fox Noise reported on it first! :2wave:

Why do you think it took her 6 years to get a 4 year degree?

This is NOT a surprise She's an idiot! She "REFUSED" prep help for an interview?!?!? WTF? Why didn't McCain and his people jump oh her like a polar bear on a seal on this?!?!?!

These kind of stories will lessen her chances of going anywhere with the Repubs in the future. She's nothing more than a talking points puker.

These stories also show just how unorganized, unprofessional and weak the Repubs really are.

And just now I heard she might put herself in Senator Stevens Senatorial seat, after he's kicked to the curb. Can't Repubs ever learn anything? :rofl

Oh well, maybe she'll be looking to buy some ocean front property in Arizona? :2rofll::2rofll::2rofll:

For being so stupid she sure has accomplished quite a bit for herself in life not being born to status, wealth or power.

What's your superior personal success story in status, wealth or power supporting your claim of superior intelligence? (I thought so).

Yeah, but we won't dodge the taxes.
If you make $250,000+

Besides, if we bought it on credit should we pay for it? How do we pay back what we bought on credit?

Here's the republican mantra 'we need to give a lot of money to special interests, corporate America and the military industrial complex and let someone else pay for it'.

Does that about sum it up?

Sarah Palin has come off as less than sharp. But, to be fair, Biden, Bush, and Obama all have said completely retarded things that made them look foolish. They didn't take nearly the amount of **** Palin takes.

Part of that almost has to be because Palin is a woman. She also has that really annoying voice and accent that makes her sound dumber 'cause we're not use to hearing it.

Now this stuff about her may or may not be true. Maybe she really is dumb as dog****. But it could be that she just got way more crap than others did for her screw ups.

It does sound unforgivable to not know Africa is a continent. However if that's true it's equally unforgivable to not correctly state how many states there are in the US, which Obama did, and nobody gave a crap.

Furthermore while all these staffers are supposedly talking they are doing so anonymously. That's bull****. Before you get to tear someone apart you should have to show your face. I think it's rather indecent of the news to even talk about what secret secret unknown unwilling to put their own face to their comments staffers are saying. Crap journalism. I'm not really overly invested in defending Palin. But I do think that report was lame.

You're confusing gaffs with ignorance. Obama knows how many states there are but he flubbed. Palin, didn't say something like '...the country of Africa...' when she meant continent, her handlers say she didn't know Africa was a continent. Big difference.

Right, even when we all heard him say it!

But it's not silly to believe that Palin couldn't name all the continents. That, if asked, she wouldn't know Africa was a continent???

It's not silly to believe that? Even in light of the fact that no person, no witness was willing to put their name to the claim? No video. No evidence whatsoever that she actually even made that mistake.

Palin is the goddamn governor of Alaska for christ sake. Excuse me if I tend towards believing she could name the continents if she wasn't tired.

Considering her ignorance on other issues it's very easy to believe she is ignorant of any number of things.

I'm a former Marine, I have 2 degrees, am a business owner, a community volunteer, I have a son in the Marines who is going to nightschool for a degree in forensic psychology. My father is a farmer in Il.

I'd bet all that I have that my intelligence is superior to hers. Good enough for you?

Too bad you don't have any class to go along with that resume.

palin bashers:

Holy god, he's right. I checked other polls and he's right. Republicans really do want Palin.

Honestly, why are Republicans so enamored with stupid people?

Stupid is as stupid does? :doh

Obama thinks there are 57 states. Why are democrats so enamored with stupid people?

Well, if that were true, that should put him just under Palin on your list of heroes.

I'm thinking that in order to attract more of the Republican vote in 2012, he'll need to practice up on his "reglar talk."

Obama thinks that raising capital gains tax will help the economy.... the market shows otherwise.

Obama wants another stimulus package.

2 stupid moves, by a very stupid man,.

It's that "comfort zone" thing!

The difference between Republicans and Democrats is quite simple.

Republicans, looking to get out of the box, ask other people who are "in" the box.

Democrats ask people who are "outside" the box, who can read the instructions to them that are written... on the outside of the box.
