"Pakistan is a failed state" i found this a most funniest statement rather i believe Pakistan is the most vibrant country, their are so many reasons for this belief.

i accept that their is a very corrupt regime governing the country right now and is the cause of most of the bad things related to Pakistan, except that Pakistan is a very young population, around 70 to 75% population is under the age of 30, they are the 8th largest market of the world, 8th Atomic power with one of the best Army in the world.

Pakistan is independent in food crops, they have one of the best canal system, they come in top 10 in almost every food item. and with better use of pesticides it could be doubled. 2nd largest coal mine is in Pakistan, and with this Pakistan could fulfill energy needs for centuries with that in Balouchistan there are huge Gold mines. People of Pakistan are poor but they believe in charity, probably Pakistanies are the highest charity payer.

Media is very vibrant and The Independent Supreme Court is working very good for Pakistan. Most important asset of Pakistan is the strategic location of Pakistan, with the optimum use of resources Pakistan could easily market India and Middle east countries big time. Sea ports of Pakistan are located on very important positions, this is the gateway to central Asian countries.

Only problem is the political elite, which is very corrupt and incompetent. Imran Khan with his party "Movement for Justice" is getting popular now, who is the most honest and credible personality in Pakistan. So all the signs showing that Pakistan is going to be in the list of developed countries in coming time, not a failed state for sure.

Imran Khan certainly sounds like a positive step though after reading this I read he was popular with the West and popular with the army but not necessarily popular with the Pakistan people so what you say is different.

I heard him speak about a year ago on the Andrew Mar show. That time he believed that Pakistan was bordering on a failed state and that the US really needed to get out because all the loss of innocent lives there was sending people towards the Taliban.

Here is a more recent one where he speaks of the corruption and Bin Laden's death as well as the 35,000 people killed and millions made into refugees by it's involvement with the US in the Afghan war.

I hope things get better because it hasn't been looking good from the outside.
