Painful but "heart"warming story of a turtle born with a major physical defect

This turtle was born with an exposed heart. It's shell would normally cover and protect it's vital organs, but it was born with an elongated hole over it's heart, leaving it completely open to the elements! So it couldn't be released into the wild, and it required a very careful upbringing in captivity. Some of the images are painful to see.

Band Aid and a little medical tape and she's good to go. Done it many a time myself no big deal.
