Opinion | The Party of One Becomes the Party of None

You leftists were carefully indoctrinated in your wacky, wokeist/socialist religion and follow along in lockstep with blinders on.

Baaaaaa. Baaaaaa....

That's not America, people.

It makes more sense when you recognize they're hiding their only real 'platform', plutocracy, and all the rest is just trying to fool people to vote for them.

Agreed.

Republicans believe in liberty, economic prosperity, preserving American values and traditions, and restoring the American dream for every citizen of this great nation. As a party, we support policies that seek to achieve those goals.

Our platform is centered on stimulating economic growth for all Americans, protecting constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms, ensuring the integrity of our elections, and maintaining our national security. We are working to preserve America's greatness for our children and grandchildren.

That's not a policy platform, it's just some feel-good words, most of which applies to every American.

This one in particular is really absurd though "preserving American values and traditions,"
I mean, after Trump attacked the values and traditions on a daily basis, and his supporters loved it...you have some nerve posting that.
But then it also looks like it's just a dog whistle for anti-lgbtq and anti-systemic racism awareness.

You missed "oppose anything and everything Democrats do" too.
...and to take credit for legislation they had no part in passing...

That's right. This is GOP America:

I'm pretty sure that trying to overturn the outcome of an election, as well as rioting the Capitol building-all because your candidate lost-does not constitute American values and traditions.

What you seem to really want is some sort of Banana Republic with Trump as "El Presidente" for life. Try as you might, it won't happen....😉

As the House Speaker saga began to take place last week, I opined we are seeing the beginning of the battle to exorcise radical MAGA, and diminish Donald Trump, within the Republican Party.

This opinion piece above seems to be corroborative of what I believe I'm seeing.

I also believe the piece is correct in stating there is a power-vacuum occurring. I agree. And I'll go one further in claiming there is an ideological vacuum, as well. The GOP have not had a platform since before 2016. There's a lot they're going to have to figure-out, besides merely defining their avenues of power. They need to define what it is they stand for.

Enjoy!
Trump is not the President. The only people who think he runs the party is the Democrats because they have to campaign on Trump.

But that's exactly what lying about Trump Russian Collusion, and the FBI lying to the FISA court and FBI pressuring Big Tech to silence conservatives. was doing. Trying to impact the outcome of elections. So why aren't democrats asking for their arrest and being charged? Sure wanted Trump arrested for Collusion even though there was none.

But that is exactly what the MAGA cult does, cries about being a victim.

I know he ran the Party, despite your assertions. I can see with my own eyes.

Democrats, liberals, progressives believe in 87,000 new IRS agents to take all that away from the non-political elites, clearly.

Well, being that neither party even when they hold the house or the senate has any large majority, what that means is that every vote counts. So until either party has more numbers, or a wider margin. Then both parties will continue to be forced to keep a seat at the table for either MAGA Republicans or Squad democrats. This is just the nature of the political situation.

Well when the democrats do wrong shouldn't they say so? The Collusion BS was fake. It was done to change the outcome of an election. Of course the left doesn't care.

True. But as of late, the Squad's looking pretty benign compared to the more extreme MAGA.

We'll have to see if the Speakership battle has unified the GOP House. Because right now the Dem House looks pretty darn unified - ever since they got Pelosi, and it so-far seems to have stuck under Jeffries. In fact I think it was pretty amazing that Pelosi stepped down while still having won her district, and passed the torch to Jeffries. It was a seamless transition.

That is a matter of perspective I submit. Some of the gross antisemtic comments from some in the squad are pretty outrageous. Extreme is extreme, MAGA or Squad.

They came together in the end. There is more that unites them than divides them in terms of opposition to the last 2 years of democrat far left policy.

We'll see. Of course they appear united for now. We'll see how much worse some things get under Biden. Border fiasco, inflation, who knows what next. Biden is going to attempt to appear more moderate if he runs again, and that won't sit well with the Squad or the Bernie types over in the Senate. There will be fractures.

In fact I think it was pretty amazing that Pelosi stepped down while still having won her district, and passed the torch to Jeffries. It was a seamless transition.
Did she have a choice? She knew the Republicans were going to take control anyway. She isn't stupid.

Are you willing to acknowledge there were many things to investigate and in the end the facts were laid out.

Trump is not the President. The only people who think he runs the party is the Democrats because they have to campaign on Trump.
The GOP ate their own candidates alive during their primary season. Condemning moderates as RINOs and backing candidates that Trump approved of.

And now you’re going to claim that was the democrats? Seriously?
Democrats, liberals, progressives believe in 87,000 new IRS agents to take all that away from the non-political elites, clearly.
Why would anyone be opposed to more IRS agents to enforce tax codes and eliminate backlogs?

Unless you have done some tricky accounting that you don’t want notified.

I’ve never understood the opposition to the more agents. Don’t you want to catch the cheaters and liars who aren’t paying what they are supposed to?

You could avoid all that typing and just say "MAGA". Its the same nonsense in a shorter form.

The federal government is too large, too expensive, too intrusive, and already far too powerful for it's own good as well as the good of the people it's supposed to be serving.

87,000 more IRS agents, more unaccountable bureaucrats, for a federal agency which has already acknowledged it was used as a political weapon, going after conservative groups.

If the IRS as a whole has an excess of time on their hands to do this, they've already got more than enough of IRS agents, and probably need changes in their management / leadership, who are clearly not applying proper prioritization.

The government that governs best, governs least, or at least governs the least intrusive.

Maybe they'll get it put down in writing for '24.

You'll have to ask Donald what he wants first.

Inflation's decreasing. The House Dems have remained solidly united since Pelosi's been in, and I see no reason for that to change.

Did she have a choice? She knew the Republicans were going to take control anyway. She isn't stupid.

Yes. She could have remained in Jeffries' job - Minority Leader.
