While most were drinking the mainstream media Kool-Aid that Republicans and President Trump are responsible for keeping paychecks out of the hands of federal employees affected by the government shutdown, a bill was brought to the House floor that would have paid them their first paycheck of 2019.
It failed. Despite six Democrats voting in favor of the bill, the Democratic majority shot it down, preventing their political pawns – the 800,000 people directly affected by the government shutdown – from getting paid.
Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) pointed it out and received a good amount of interactions on Twitter, but most in mainstream media refused to run this narrative-busting truth.

You're making it sound like it's the Democrats fault the government is shut down.
What, in your mind, should Nancy Pelosi do ?

Spare us the fake outrage.
McConnell blocks bill to reopen most of government

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) blocked legislation on Wednesday that would reopen most of the government currently closed during the partial shutdown.
Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) went to the Senate floor to ask for consent to take up the House-passed bill that would fund every agency and department impacted by the partial shutdown, except the Department of Homeland Security, through Sept. 30.
McConnell, however, objected. It's the fourth time he's blocked the bill to reopen most of government. He has also blocked, as recently as Tuesday, a House-passed bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security through Feb. 8.
Democrats have been coming to the floor on a near-daily basis while the Senate is in session to try to bring up the House package, even though the GOP leader has said he will not allow them to come to the Senate floor.
House Democrats have passed numerous bills to reopen government including one the Senate agreed to. Blocked by McConnell. Ultimately the Big blocker is Trump. What ever is passed must have his signature.

WOW, you really don't know how to win one.
That bill would only affect a small number of Govt employees. The GOP bill would help them all.
The Democrats leverage in this is to have as many people suffering as possible. President Trumps leverage is to have as few suffering as possible.
We need this wall, what will it take: Terrorists sneaking a nuke or dirty bomb across the border before you Leftist admit that?
Donald said he was proud to own the shutdown.
Admittedly, the man lies as much as others breathe. But I believe him this time. The Trump shutdown rolls merrily on, and his popularity continues to dwindle.
Sure, you need a wall. Now get Mexico to pay for it.
I know, those skeery terrorists are coming to get you. You better lock yourself in your house!
McConnell is refusing to let any bill come to a vote. So spare us your fake outrage.
If Trump pays you by the word, he's getting ripped off.
Yes, because like most people paying attention he realizes that it can be managed in such a way that no one including low level Govt workers will notice. That is the last thing the Big Government Swamp wants.
His popularity is still higher than Obama's was at this time.
I hope Donald rationalizes it just like you do, and continues his shutdown.
With the new trade deals Mexico is already paying for it. With out that entire country collecting welfare here at over 70% they are really paying for it.
If that gets you through your day, go for it. The people with working brains know better.
And if Mexico is already paying for it, he doesn't need money from the Treasury.
Do you say "I will fail" each time you log on to this board?
The money he has gotten/saved in trade deals goes to the Treasury first.... try to keep up.

Good. So then he already has it in his possession. Cut a check. Cut his own check and pay himself back when the money clears.
He doesn't need our money.
You said so yourself.
Try to keep up.
Can you provide a link to this alleged money that has gone to the US Treasury from "trade deals"?
It's hard to rationalize something that aside from hearing it on the news I would never notice.
The USMCA is expected to be signed by leaders of the three countries in 60 days, on November 30, and to be voted by Congresses/Parliament afterwards, most likely in 2019. In the meantime, NAFTA remains in effect. For USMCA to come into effect it will need to be approved by simple majority in both houses of US Congress (starting with the House), by simple majority in the Canadian Parliament and by qualified majority (2/3) in the Mexican Senate (which AMLO should be able to get without much trouble).
None of which ends up in the Treasury. Do we need to give you a primer on how capitalism works?
And yet you created a thread about it.
Maybe you should stop paying attention to the media you despise and live your life.
