On of the best executive orders ever issued was the one by President Trump about first Amendments rights on college campuses. Colleges will lose Fed funds if they dont comply. At last conservative college students have a right to a voice on campus!!!!

We already have Constitutional free speech and the courts to protect those rights. How would this order differ? There are no criteria given to determine what constitutes a college denial of free speech and what the penalty would be. Does the Fed govt threaten colleges and other orgs to deny funds based on their violating in some sense some other perceived Constitutional right? Trump before has said the free-speech issue was “overblown”. Classic Trump.

Free speech doesn't mean you get a free platform for that free speech. For instance, colleges do not have to sponsor hate speech in an auditorium.

No, you're wrong. The best EO ever issued by Trump was the one that declared the sun shall rise in the East. No other president had the balls to make such a demand and it has never been opposed, not once! This proves Trump is the greatest president of all time.

This is one of the ways leftists attack the 1st Amendment. By denying it to others for which they disagree. And if leftist students interfere with the free exercise of the 1st Amendment while on campus, and the officials do nothing, federal money ought to be cut until such time the college can prove they are able to defend free speech on campus.

Liberal definition of hate speech- They hurt my feewings

Funny how only Democrats want to govern what is or isn't free speech and what is or isn't hate speech. Seems to work fine for them when attacking conservatives in restaurants.

I find it even more amazing you have to threaten a college, a place where you are supposed to express your ideas, with federal funding to stop them from suppressing students from free speech.
 
Speaking only for myself, I would never want to see the free speech rights of President of the United States of America Donald Trump abrogated in whole or in part. His comments and tweets form an important part of my daily humor intake.

The term "hate speech" was dreamed up by the left to squelch free speech, just like PC was. Who gets to determine WHAT is hate speech?

I dont believe there is such a thing as hate speech. Any speech is the opinion of the person speaking it. It is also protected by the First Amendment.

Democrats would say that ANYTHING they dont agree with is hate speech.

Any school that produces the likes of WH advisor Steven Miller should be shut down completely. They surely failed !!!

Okay, what about lib students at a Christian University that want a pro abortion person to come and talk on campus? Remember, that such schools take federal funds.

Telling the truth isn't hate speech. Trump cannot alter the First Amendment with an EO. You should spend more time in a poli-sci classroom than on Stormfront.
 
Actually, this is not about free speech.

This is about a truth that goes "If you take the king's coin, you shall do the king's bidding." The federal government is under no obligation to disperse funds unless there is a bonafide contract. Those in power can withdraw those funds for whatever reason they like whenever they like.

Another example of this was way back in the 1970's when Congress decided the states needed to lower their state speed limits to 55 mph. There was no way they could mandate a federal speed limit, so they simply tied federal highway funding to compliance. Any state that refused to lower their speed limit would risk losing tens of millions of federal funds. No state would dare risk it, and the speed limits came down across the nation.

Now, any school that does not comply with the demands of president Trump will pay a hefty price. That's what you get for taking federal money in the first place.
