My guess is that Vice will gross more but that that is more because Vice is fiction while on the Basis of Sex is more non-fiction.

Over sensationalized/exaggerated stories about conservatives sell way more in Hollywood. Stories that put America or government in a bad light (anti-war) seem like a annual pastime for Hollywood.

On a side note, the actress that plays Ruth Bader Ginsburg daughter also plays Dick Cheney's wife in Vice.
